When did you first realize that you'd be an entrepreneur?

Looking back, I can see the seeds as being planted in Kindergarten. I started selling packs of Mambas for 75 cents after purchasing them for a quarter. From there I expanded operations and added packs of hot fries to the mix. From there I began charging friends to play nintendo and it went on from there.

When did you realize that you'd be self made?

I've been working for myself my entire life. I've never had a "real job".

I can't imagine actually working for someone, and having a boss.....

I've had a couple... 1 was bussing tables at 16 in a high end steak house and another was as a salesman on commission at Circuit City. I was pretty much the dickheaded employee that you saw in Office Space, and I was always the top seller.

Sold jerky and candy in school.
Was mowing lawn every day after school and on weekends.
Had a paper delivery route every morning, papers on door step by no latter than 6am. You were charged for the papers, the rubber bands, the plastic bags, and everything else and had to collect the subscription money from the clients. Whatever was left over you kept.
Also sold subscriptions to the USA today during the evenings. Strange dude would pick us up in a van around night fall and drop us off with papers in strange neighborhoods at night and then pick us up a block or two away in an hour.

That was my life pretty much between 4th grade and 8th grade.

Despite the creepy van guy, we sound pretty similar in our youth.

I would say a very young age as well. Damn, I was selling candy in grade school, I ran a school business for about a year, and then in college I started this thing.

well the thing I remember is watching my parents goto work every day and looking dead with life... I also couldn't just go buy my toys.. so for me it was more being stubborn that I couldn't have what I wanted... so I started to hate that I didn't have money, so then it became an obsession for me...

Around 5 or 6 years old when I realized I had a problem with authority, and seeing that most people work at a boring, thankless and not very lucrative job. Thanks dad

Grades K - 6 : Went to the VANS store and raped their free stickers box and sold them at school for 10 cents to 80 cents depending on sticker size and florescents. Took everyone else until I was in 6th grade to figure out they were free.

Grades 7 - 8 : Sold candy door to door. Made $40 - $70 a day. This is back in 1982 or so... Back then, that is what a college graduate made ($70 a day). My dad was starting to wonder if he should stop working for Boeing.

Grades 9 - 12 : Bought candy at a liquor store on the way to school and resold it for 50% to 300% profit. Created blowguns out of 1/4" tubing and sewing needles with a pompom glued to the end. Sold them for $1 for the tube (approx. 25 cents) and $2 for a pack of 20 darts (approx. 50 cents). Pimped beer for a premium for others with no balls to pimp it for themselves.

Graduated but was pressured to go into the market force and did well. Became convienced that being a good manager was like running your own business.

2003 : realized that working for others sucks donkey cock and started selling porn.

Dirty D started his porn career at 13...

I discovered that people threw porn magazines in the paper bin at the recycling center... I would ride my bike down and stock up...

After I personally examined each piece, I would sell them to my friends.

This was before the VCR, so magazines were all the rage.

Then I discovered an 8mm stag reel.
I invited friends over to watch the movie for a few bucks...

A few years later, the top loading VCR's came out...
I bought two for $400.00 each.
Now I could make VHS tapes and sell those to friends!

This lasted through high school where I became serious about computers.

I sold creepy crawlers in 5th grade. Made some decent money, enough to continuously buy more supplies and molds. Had some competition too, another kid saw me selling and decided he wanted in. My product was better though, lol.

Hahah! That's something I've never heard of.

It's amazing how many of us started so young. The majority of friends I have work for "he Man" and their mind works totally different than mine. Their always looking for a deal, and I'm always looking for a way to make the deal.

I used to make these certificates for people in 6th grade on the computer. You would order a certificate, and then pay me 2 bucks or so for them. They said all sorts of things (most common was something to give to your sibling, like nerdiest brother award, etc..) They looked pretty cool too...

Also sold candy, snacks, etc..

Then in 8th grade I started my own BBS, and charged people for access to adult pics/warez games. I rock!
