Toronto man facing child pornography charges

A man is facing five charges for allegedly enticing young girls into posing for modelling photographs that police say were sexual in nature.

Karim Remtulla, 37, was arrested as a result of a joint investigation by sex crimes investigators with the Durham and Toronto police forces.

Toronto police say teenage girls from the Oshawa area were allegedly lured into having their pictures taken for modeling portfolios.

Police allege the photos were of a sexual nature and that a teenage girl was given alcohol and sexually assaulted.

Charges against Remtulla include:
Sexual assault
Two counts of making child pornography
Two counts of possessing child pornography

He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.

The arrest came after police searched a home on Mar. 29. At that time officers seized a large quantity of computer and photographic equipment.

As a result of the seizures police say more potential victims have been identified.
