They're smart. They realize the US is going to over-regulate and over-police the internet, as they're already starting to do. All online companies will be in Europe within the next decade as long as the US continues to pick incompetent leadership.

noone gave them any money to do it.
when the big money tv and movie people get hurt, (loose viewers and advertising revenue) they will.
it is all about the money.
the crap about c/p is just an excuse.
c/p like alot of other nasty things has been around forever and it always will.

100% accurate Mr Soul!

The same stuff is happening in other areas - not just in broadcasting. On net stuff, there was little doubt places like the EU would end up with more transaction processors and "cash registers" The attitude is not that of "control" tho if shit hit the fan, it could come to that. Other activities, ie in the gambling arena have little problems in the EU in comparison to the US - they don't insist in throwing people in jail for this :-)

Hear ya thunder - and true!! "Promises" and "delivery" are words that don't meet too often with any govt org. If ya think the EU is bad, ya really gotta have a look at this side of the Atlantic!

Yeah thats why they oppose .XXX?

Do not believe the hype, the EU is full of shit.

Not that I am a supporter of .XXX at this point but there involvement in the .XXX issue definatly is not an action of a "Hands Off" approach.

Seems I've missed something but is EU supports badly-known ".XXX" project?

Let's see the EU is FOR .XXX and it is FOR having ISPs track every site every a surfer goes too, but they are for an "hands off" internet? Does not compute.

Who said the EU is for XXX Gator? Did I miss something?

Last I heard the EU countries who are represented at ICANN, rejected the concept of xxx TLD's, but the EU parliament were in favour of a .kids TLD.
