Happy Birthday America, Get Well Soon.

mike south wrote this on his site today and it says it all.

Happy Birthday America, Get Well Soon.

Today is Independence Day, the day we celebrate the founding of this country and the independence that made us the greatest country the world has ever known.

But today finds all of us at war, a war that we had better win, because our very survival depends on it.

We are at war with people who have violently attacked every single one of the rights enumerated in the Bill Of Rights.

Free speech has been curtailed, relegated to "free speech zones".

Individual property rights have fallen to eminent domain abuse.

Our guarantees of due process have been stripped away by simply adding the words RICO in an indictment.

We now have to prove ourselves innocent, shifting the burden from the prosecution to the defense, we can even be convicted of simply not being able to prove we didn't commit a crime.

A simple accusation of treason seems enough to be able to suspend the freedom of the press.

We can't have a private telephone conversation because the government no longer needs a courts permission to listen in, so every conversation is essentially public.

The things we store on our computer and send to each other do not belong to us, our government is free to intercept them and do with them as it pleases, including use them against us.

Companies who provide us with so called "public services" now make claims that THEY own our personal information.

We are routinely incarcerated for being no threat to anyone else whatsoever.

We cannot freely travel, we must carry identification at all times.

We are not safe in our homes, we can be invaded by gun carrying individuals with no warrant, pretty much anytime.

The list goes on and on and on.

Yes we are at war this independence day, at war with people who would slowly strip away every freedom that this country was founded on. People who see their sole purpose as nothing more than coming up with ways to make criminals out of as many of us as possible, and in doing so have made criminals out of all of us. All the while these very people who should be subject to the laws of this country more than any other people, hold themselves above the law, and have gotten so arrogant about it that they now actually proclaim that they are above the law.

And the sad part is, that we aren't fighting back.

So many people have given their very lives, and the lives of their loved ones so that you and I could live in a free country and today we look on with disinterest as these freedoms are, one by one attacked an conquered.

And every single one of these freedoms that we have lost, we lost because we allowed the enemy to take this freedom away so that we could be "protected"

Be it from drugs, or terrorists, or communists or whatever dragon the enemy has conjured up to frighten us into blind submission we have turned our head and allowed the enemy of the people another victory.

The enemy has divided us and is steadily conquering us.

When this grand old lady finally dies what will be the epitaph on the tombstone?

Will it say she died a slow death as a result of the apathy of what once made her strong. That she rolled over and let the enemy have their way with her until there was nothing left to take and she simply died with a whimper?

Or will it say she died fighting tooth and nail against all who would seek to rob her of her strengths, the very freedoms that gave birth to her and that she never lost faith that her people valued freedom above all else and that they understood that freedom was a precious thing, a thing worth dying for because without it, they are dead.

This country and our freedoms are ours people, yours and mine and if we don't protect them nobody will. We may disagree on religion or drugs or sex or rock and roll but I for one will die to protect your right to believe anything you wish, even if I don't agree with you.

We have elections coming up, lets clean house, lets tell our government, our newspapers and each other that we want back what has been taken from us, we don't need you to protect us, we can make our own enemies.

Who is responsible for taking more freedom away from Americans? Osamam Bin Laden or George W Bush Jr?

The Taliban or your senators and congressmen?

Public enemy number one is our government and it's time we met THAT dragon, head on, and slayed it.

Please remember this when you go to the polls, write your enemies and tell them that you want back the freedom that has been taken from you, that they are not above the law and remind them that they answer to you and only you, not oil companies, not lobbyists and not the Wall Street Journal, but to YOU.

It is time we engage this enemy before it is too late

Lest we be celebrating Happy Dependence Day, I fear we may already be.

"What's the most powerful attack used by America to gain it's independence?"
Overall the most powerful attack performed was done by George Washington when fighting the Egyptians. Using the Axe of Cherry Slaying, he managed to form a gigantic energy rift that engulfed Egypt's most powerful warrior, Osama Bin Laden. Although George Washington lost his life during this dramatic battle, he bought the Americans enough time to successfully repel the Egyptian invaders, ensuring our existence and forming us into a fledgling nation.

The force that killed Osama Bin Laden also managed to irradiate much of the area that is now known as California, explaining the disproportionate amount of gay people who live there.

"What was Benjamin Franklin's role during this time period?"
Benjamin Franklin was a time traveling cyborg from the year 2307, whose mission was to ensure the survival of John Connor, who for safety reasons was put into the witness location program and was forever known afterwards as Thomas Jefferson. Sadly, the Benjamin Franklin cyborg's secondary mission objection was never completed: To prevent Thomas Jefferson from mating with his house slaves, thus bringing about great civil unrest in the mid 1800's.

95% Americans are cattle and deserve exactly what ever happens to them. The sad thing is, they are too dumb to even know there is a problem.

You can usually find those people by simply asking what is the greatest country on earth. Just look for the ones to answer "America" and then ask them of they have even been out of the northern hemisphere, or even the USA for that matter. The ones that have not and answered "America" are the cattle I speak of. Anyone that HAS been around the world and still answers "America" is just an idiot.

The United States is without a doubt the greatest DEMOCRACY in the world, however that is also fading with a quickness. But the greatest country in the world... hardly.

Happy 4th of July.

That is up to each individual to decide, but should only be done after actually visiting other places and finding out what is the most important values of his life. And do these other places offer the same values and style of life that fits his needs? What's best for me may not be best for you and so on. BUT I can say this based on my experiences and not just the government propaganda that has been spoon fed to me since grade school.

I have no loyalty to any flag, leader or political party, though I do hold an American passport. I enjoy the planet... all of it. To say one mass of land divided by imaginary lines is actually better than another really isn't fair to either, and hardly worthy of starting a war or killing over. Though I suppose you could break it down by best countries for certain categories: health care, education, pollution levels, amount of money it donates to causes, friendliest people, safest cities... and so on.

I respect CULTURES, not COUNTRIES. I can totally understand how people can turn on governments and their "own people" because really, why do you have to be loyal to the country you were born or raised in? Why are you expected to conform to that system and those beliefs? Being forced into such a thing is itself a form of slavery.

Short but true story...

One of my best friends, and God bless him, swears that America is the greatest country on earth. Of course he has only been to Mexico on spring break so he really has nothing to base his decision off of, other than that he has been told all of his life that he is living in the greatest country on earth.

Maybe for him it is the greatest. He works 50 hours a week, pays a large portion of it to the government, no benefits, and is left with just enough money to pay his rent, bills and keep food on the table. He can not afford health insurance or car insurance and drives illegally because of it. In the winter time his electric bill is so high to keep his apartment warm (Ohio) that he often does not turn on his heater because 3 years ago he could not afford his bill so they turned his power off and he almost froze to death for 3 weeks until I loaned him some money to turn it on, which I never got back and I knew I wouldn't.

He is very handy with a camera so I offered him a full time job to travel with me or to live abroad, making MORE than he is now PLUS all expenses paid. He turned it down because he loves his country and honestly believes that his government is looking out for him and the economy will make an upswing and get him out of the quicksand he can not get out of.

For him, it is still the greatest country on earth. I'm not sure why he holds on this theory, but it seems to be working out very well for him.

Spoken like a true American.

My answer IS in there. Or is it too many words for you to read?

Because I don't stand for any one country, does not mean I stand for nothing. Not supporting The United States is not being negative. And please tell me where I said I was better than anyone? Those are your words, not mine.

Contrary to popular belief, I am not so simple minded that I just lump all characteristics of a country into one and say it's the greatest on earth. I already said the united states was the greates democracy. Now I will say Singapore is the cleanest and safest country in the world. Then I will add that Canada offers free health care to it's citizens and is every bit as free as the united states, if not more. Probably more. So what does that say about them? Cuba has the best music, Nepal the best mountain climbing and Italy the best food. I currently live in Thailand but that is far from the greatest on earth. But it's the best for having deviant fun. I have also spent a lot of time Colombia and without a doubt can say that if you have money and don't mind a little risk, Colombia kicks total ass to live in. I could easily retire there. Austria is pretty amazing as well. All places I would rather be than the USA.

There is no ONE country that kicks all the others asses. There are only places that may be better based on what you want out of them and what they can offer you. Not real difficult to understand.

If I did not have family in the USA, I would not have any reason to return.

I disagree completely that the US is the greatest democracy - as a matter of fact I'd go so far as to say that the democracy that Iraq had before we installed the military power in the 1970-80s that generated Saddam, was a much higher form of democracy than ours.

The original concept of the US republic was entirely the best form of democracy - although it wasnt really a new concept or set of ideals, the framers saw in the formation of it and the writing of the Articles of Constitution, that there were many pitfalls that would occur along the way.
Unfortunately, I would also have to agree that 95% of the citizens in the US are sheep and cannot think for themselves - therefore most of the pitfalls forecast in the late 1700s have now come into being and are not seen as contrary to the Constitution by most of these sheep (guess they might need to read it to know whats in it instead of listening to the idiots hurling on the "news" programs these days)

12clicks - if you could read you would see that DirtyWhiteBoy did answer your question twice "the Greatest for doing what?" - guess answering with a question threw you off?

That's because it's THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA jack ass. Not "America" as so many of you call it. NORTH AMERICA is a continent, as is SOUTH & CENTRAL AMERICA.

"I'm American" is about the dumbest fucking thing anyone from the USA could say.

And yes, the majority of the "american people" are cattle. One look at how they let the government get to where they are right now and that is enough. They no longer fight for what they believe in, they let it all happen and will continue to let it happen. They live in fear because they are ruled by fear. Day in, day out. Doing what they are told, feeding the system... Cattle.

But the greatest country in the world... hardly.
now, I understand that by answering the question you'll expose yourself but if you want to call people who think America (the excepted short version of the USA except among the rabble) names for believing they live in the greatest country, and if you make this very bold, all knowing statement:
"""But the greatest country in the world... hardly.""""

well then, son, it sounds like you know which country is better. Now I understand you want to back away from that instead of having me rub your nose in it but your first post wasn't about who has the best music, the best whores, etc.

well, as long as you consider yourself equal with cattle, an idiot, and any other names you chose to call Americans, I guess you have a point.

Again, if you want to belittle people for thinking America is the greatest country on earth, you aught to be willing to explain which one is better.
You can't so you'll throw up nonsense about how different countries are great at some things but not others. Intelligent people can take all that into account and decide where the greatest country to live is. Last I looked at the US immigration stats, most have.

no, the dumbest fucking thing you could say is "I've travelled the world" and then make a silly argument about "I'm American"

here's another question you won't answer because of the exposer it will give your mental ability:

when you're in these other countries you travel too, what do THEY call you when discussing your nationality?
I'll wait.

I also know many people who went to the USA AND LEFT to go back to their country because they thought it sucked ass. At one time, it was the shit. Now it's the laughing stock of the world. If you don't believe or can't accept that, get out more and find out for yourself.

3) When I'm done with this post, you're not going to get any more of my time because I answered your question and you refuse to accept it. You must have a narrow mind that can not think outside of the box, but I don't fault you for that. I fault the educational system and public school that you probably went to.

Your thought process is flawed, but I will humor you. The greatest country for ME would be Colombia because I am passionate about Latin art, Latin culture and Latin music. The health care is great, the people are friendly, the culture is alive and full of passion, beautiful natural scenery, always something to do, drop dead beautiful women who love gringos and always a element of danger to keep you on your toes. For what I like to do, that is the greatest country. It is also great because I have money. If I was born there and living in poverty I'm sure I would be singing a different tune.

So.... before I walk into the room and blow my load into a beautiful Asian girl, I will leave you with the first 4 names that pop into my head, in addition to what I already have said: Canada, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand.

Now if you will excuse me, I have pussy waiting for me.

As I watched to make sure my last post made it, I saw this and almost fell out of my chair. This just proved to me you have never left... but that's ok, it explains your posts. I love you anyway.

does knowing a definition of a war and then using it to mislable something more or less intelligent than just not knowing the definition?

While bragging about prostitutes is cool in certain circles, I'm not sure what you bringing it up does for you.

Now that you've picked columbia, you can disparage America. It takes one kind of person to like columbia and what it has to offer and another to like America.
However, because I understand some people like prostitutes and some people like high class women, I'd never think to call someone with different tastes cattle, or idiot, or anything really.
different tastes make the world go round. too bad you don't get that.

Seriously 12clicks... there is no such thing as the "greatest country on earth".

It's a personal thing.. and, given a choice based on where you like to stay etc, it's hardly a country - an island. But that has nothing to do with being "the greatest" - everywhere has *something* to offer. It's usually called lifestyle more than anything.

no shit sherlock but when you take the time to call people names because of their choices, back up your bullshit or blow away.
you see, we here in America don't have to puff ourselves up by explaining how bad other countries are. We just go about enjoying our lives.
kinda makes us wonder about the mental stability of others who find the time to trash others.

Yawn.

You are right, the rest of the world is wrong. As am I. My apologies. I'm a dumb fuck who knows nothing about anything.

Now please get back in whatever line you are standing in, pay your taxes, live in debt, fear whatever is going on at the time on Fox News, lock your doors, don't question anything, don't express yourself, give up all of your private information, give away more and more of your freedoms so you can feel secure, and continue buying the sack of lies (in every size) that are force upon you daily like the rest of the herd does. That is the American way, which in turn means that is the best and only way.

I don't think so. I hope I am wrong but this seems to be one of those times where things are FUBAR and there is no going backwards. Look at what has happened just since 9-11, now imagine if another attack were to happen. I could one day see (in the not too distant future) a total police state, no privacy, and total control and tracking of the people. Smart cards / chips, a cashless society, cameras everywhere (already started)... it's going to be a mess, and the sad thing is that the people let it happen.

Whether it was from not voting, not standing up for what they believe in or simply out of fear, they have let this happen and there is no going back.

as I said, you really gotta question the mental stability of people who believe this. I live a wonderful life, I'm truly sorry that you have to hop around the world in search of one. Difference is, I don't need to explain how people from other countries are cattle to make myself feel superior.
you see, I'm happy with who I am and how I live.
