One of the ummm... oddities of the Israeli parliament is that it includes parties representing ultra-orthodox Haredi Jews who oppose the existence of the State of Israel, but while it does exist are pragmatic enough to use its institutions to push their other agendas.

A further twist is that although there are also anti-Zionist Arab parties in the Knesset, some Arabs vote for the ultra-orthodox Jewish candidates, apparently having more faith that their opposition to the State will eventually prove effective
