Anyone have a T1 line in their home?
We were thinking about getting one but not sure if our current setup would be better. We have 6bit DSL, 10bit cable and 2 more DSL lines on the way.
Anyone have any T1 experience in their home? I'd love to have a t3 line but that's not really practical ![]() ![]()

a t1 is 1.54 each way its also considered a biz product if your t1 goes down at 3am you can get on the phone and bitch at a tech and they will send someone out to fix the line at 3am if something happend to it.

Sounds like you already have a shitload of bandwidth, I don't see why adding another 1.5 line is going to make a ton of difference unless your upload is capped on all your other connections.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I think T1s are going for around $350 to $600/month now. I think our current lines are better combined, just wondering if there's any benefits.
Our cable sucks (Charter) so we don't even count as having it because we rarely use it. Our DSL is pretty fast and stable, thankfully!

the only reason to get a t1 is if you want a stable connection and to be able to bitch 24/7 if something is wrong also 1.54 up is quicker then allmost all dsl/cable upload speeds if you upload alot you will like it its 1.54 down and up. |

Standard cable and DSL packages are faster than T1 lines... though most can't upload as fast, but there isn't that big of a differance in upload speeds.

You can also never have too much back up when all your income is internet based. The first week we had cable, it went down until they came to repair it a week later.

No, I want one though. I have a couple Paradyne Comsphere 3000 modem banks, and nothing to use them for.
