Discuss what's fucking going on, and which programs are best and worst. One-time "program" announcements from "established" webmasters are allowed. |

getting money from a program you no longer promote
so its been said that if you dont like a program or how they convert, you can ask to be paid out what you've made to that point and have your account shut down.
but what about the programs that refuse to pay you and/or terminate your account upon request and receipt of payment owed?? is that even legal to do? do you just accept it and move on? ![]() |

I'll try pushing a little more to see if I can meet "the minimum", but once it hits like 1:8,000 or so, I'll just dump it completely. I'll ask if if I can get the balance, but if they say "No, our TOS says..." I accept it and move on. But I will damn sure remember who runs the program, who the rep was etc. and stay far away from any of them in the future.
Is keeping your money completely legal? Doubtful, but nobody in their right mind is going to spend hundreds of dollars trying to recoup 99 dollars or less. A few sponsors were nice enough to send the balance, give the required "I'm sorry our sites didn't work for your traffic" speech, and close the account, but this is definitely not the norm. What is absolutely fucking frustrating is when you do ok.. say 1:600 ish with a sponsor, end up 1 sale short of the minimum.. then go 0:10,0000 w/ 89.00 in the account ![]() |

I'd be cashing 1000s of dollars if they did pay,,, there is so much money out there I'll probably never ever see,, & alot of them are programs people kiss ass & bow down to,,, One of them I'm at something like 1:50,000+ & havent seen any of their reps posting around here for months now, but all the teeny blog crowd love spanking to their teeny girls.. I want my $45 & will drop the fuckers like flies on shit, & I dare not name the program for fair of not getting paid, god forbid it ever makes another sale off of google cache or some lost unknown link
Actually, there's several,,, Adding it up now,, should be well over $2500 out there unpaid due to minimums & shit ratios |

sometimes it works out in your favor.. ive had like 80 bucks sittin in an account for a decent amount of time, company run a promo, or grab my attention, i give em another whirl. or just decide to work them back in with some traffic.
score a sale, boom.. up 100.. i love those checks.. my girl calls em pennys from heaven as its not really accounted for $ really... so we blow em as soon as they come in. now.. as far as frustration goes.. 100 buck min payouts.. you send the same amount of traffic that you know would produce 2 or 3 sales with who ever you are currently using, and end up with 1... so then its.. do i know that im going to miss out on a couple/few more sales with the other company, or do i roll the dice and continue in hopes of making atleast the min payout before i call it quits. i had like 8 bucks in an old www.wegcash.com account and won a poker game they sponsored on 2bet. got 208 bucks. good stuff

It would be nice of them to pay out whatever money you made that was left over at the end of each fiscal year.

Few years ago: I was short a few pennies on a lightspeed account. They had no problem paying out. Now another sponsor I was a dollar short. Refused to. You can guess if I would send them traffic now that I control an ass load 3 years later. Forget it.

If you don't like how a sponsor converts, you stop promoting it. You don't close your account... you mgiht get surfers joining later on with the same cookies and if you are rev share you are loosing a lot.
If it's about min pay, then it's your problem |

I never worry about not making a minimum. I saw the minimum when I signed up and I decided I'd play by the company's rules. If I don't hit it, so be it...It's my own fault. If I do hit the minimum, great. It's very rare that I promote a company, get 1 signup, and never get 1 again. The SE's always send traffic and eventually that minimum is reached. As somebody said earlier, it's pennies from heaven.
People need to realize that cutting checks that aren't set to be paid in an affiliate program database, can often be disasterous when accounging for lost cash... It's not as easy as some affiliates think...Especially when dealing with companies who have multiple departments. |

The Frogbucks program has set the minimum payout to $25 for just this reason. This does two things: 1. Allows for smaller webmasters who are just starting the opportunity to promote and get paid while they are learning how to control their traffic. 2. Allows an experienced webmaster the ability to channel their traffic to other sources if it's not converting well enough to suit them. If you have that experience, you know that traffic can be fickle, even when sending to similar products. We don't want non-converting traffic either, as this just hurts ratios, which many people wheigh when considering to use your program. Personally I think that's a bad idea, because your traffic may (and will) convert at it's own ratio, and is completely independant of any ratio that we have. When it comes to ratios, you should only worry about your own, because that's the one that makes you money. But, I'm getting off topic. Setting Frogbucks min payout to $25 is for just this reason, and I'd set it to $1 but it's just not an option with our software. While paying out less than this would be an accounting problem for us, I don't think I have a problem paying out someone who doesn't meet the minimum they are choosing to move on and not promote any longer. However, I would encourage those folks to stick around for a while, because as we grow we have new products coming online (like our upcoming teen girls site) that may bring those sales that they are not getting. *EDIT - as to the legality of holding monies that don't meet the minimum payout, I would say that if it was in the terms of service then they have that legal right to not pay it out. But I'd call it petty bullshit. I think it may even be in our terms, but I'd never hold anyone to it |
