When you go to a show such as Internext....is it weird???
I'm talking to the Juicys, the Jaymans, the Steve Lightspeeds of this board and other boards. Is it weird, that people you have no idea who they are, come up to you and are like, "Hey Juicy! What's up man???!!!"
Not that I would have a problem with it, it would just seem creepy that people acted like they've known me for years and I have no clue who they are.

people do that to me sometimes, where i don't know them, but they know me and i jsut say hi, and talk to them like anyone else. thats why i go to shows, to get to know everyone in the biz. people know you and your personality so they feel that they know you. for the people you mentioned, they are all the same on the boards as in person, so if someone knows them through the board you pretty much know their genuine personality. i know thats true for me. i like it when people come up to me and introduce themselves to me.

I mean I would, I gues introduce myself with my real name and then I'm Ecks on GFY. I was just thinking about it the other day and how weird it must be for guys like you that have a recognoizable name and face from the board.

thats one thing that does confuse me on the spot. there are alot of people i am friends with on the boards by their nick, but i dont know their real name. when i meet them, they will introduce themselves with their real name and i'll spend an entire day hanging out with them without knowing their board nick. then once i find out their board nick, i put alot of the pieces together from what was said throughout the day, or they'll say something that reminds me of a nick on the board and i'll say "so your board is ______________" and then i realize who i'm hanging out with. i think generally if you're nice and friendly, almost anyone who goes to shows is going to be receptive to hanging out and getting to know people. the shows have an amazing amount of good, fun, cool people. online is so much more cohesive than the video side of the biz which is tremendously more clicky. online is a little clicky, but not nearly as visible as the video side at the shows. |

It happens to me all the time. I remember the last Phoenix Forum I was walking down the stairs from the pool area and 3 guys are walking up. They said, "hey baddog!" Then one asked me, "how many times have you been greeted by people you don't know?"
I said, "counting now, about 37." |

when i went to interenext my first time, i had several people (that i had NO CLUE) who they were, come up and say shit like "OMG! BABA!! how are you??". which is weird cuz i rarely post my pic on gfy so i was a little shocked. its weird but cool after they tell you who they are lol

What I love is the people that come up and introduce themselves and then comment that I gave them a hard time in one thread on GFY back in 2003, like I should recall the event.
