coal gasification the key to American security.

Consumers Transportation and Energy Security Act.

This plan was devised by the CEO of Jet Blue.

It is worth reading. I am normaly against government programs, but this is one I support. If you are a US citizen I suggest you contact your Senator and Congressman and urge them to support this bill.

Oh yes, switching from one fossil fuel to another is awesome! Support coal!!! COAL IS #1! God forbid they spend 20+ billion dollars researching true alternative energy resources like they have on coal research and nuclear power research in the last ten years, where-as true alternative energy projects have gotten around 100 million during the same time period. Yaaaaah! GO COAL, YOU CAN DO IT!

except there is a 300 yr supply of coal for gasification so that is enough time to research alternative fuels. the nice thing about coal gasification is that the process is a closed circuit as well so there is no extra issue in the production.

flood the market with it.

We have more than enough time to do said research now. There isn't any hard numbers on when we're running out of oil, most say at least forty to fifty years before things even get remotely serious. It took them less than a decade to develop the atomic bomb (which took approx. $20 billion dollars to research and develop) because they had some of the greatest minds the world has ever known working on a true weapon of mass destruction. If similar minds today were paid $20 billion dollars you can't tell me they couldn't put their talents to good and find a true alternative, stable power source that doesn't involve fossil fuels.
