It also sparked a second question: Why is that that GENERALLY speaking, the white women that black men tend to date usually live on the larger side of life? (I asked my black co-worker, but personally I think he was too embarassed to admit it).

i dont think "all" white women like black men. but it is true that ALOT of black guys like large women..
