Quick update on PH merchant account status

I'll be out most of the day, so I wont be replying until tonight or the morning if needed, but for those of you with merchant accounts written in the Phillipines, there has been a preliminary extension through Sept 8 by Visa for these accounts.

This may not lead to a permanent solution but it is another week to process while exploring options. I'm glad to hear it for those that may not have already gotten a secondary (or potentially new primary) setup in place.

There are options available in the EU, US and elsewhere, at varying rates and terms. We do not place all these options but I'll be more than happy to refer you to people who do handle something we don't have if you like.

Is this in reference to the September 1 deadline that was supposed to hit for high risk merchants?

This is good news, wonder why CNP hasn't notified anyone directly... I didn't hear anything from those guys.

Thankfully we have a second and third backup in place :D

They did send out client letters if I'm not mistaken. It would certainly be in their best interest to do so. I'd already notified my folks directly, but I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to post it.

I certainly hope that RCBC gets Visa to change their mind and keep the bank acquiring Visa, we've never had any problems with CNP or their staff really.

We have a CNP account and Humboldt among some others all going through Netbilling. Besides Humboldt (my favorite), the CNP account was very stable and settled timely so I hope they work it out. For those looking for accounts, I know that Humboldt has volume available as we just setyup a secondary account for a new group of sites (eith a different corp name) there and Netbilling got the new one approved in about 5 days. It was quick and Humboldt rocks for high volume adult merchant accounts.

Yeah, they sent client letters... about 6 days before the deadline of 8/31.

I also received an email from CNP tech asking us to integrate Bastion (BEFORE I received the email about the Visa issue) to replace Jetpay (which we JUST integrated to replace iPAY about 2-3 months earlier)...

Notice the "requiring you" part below... pretty shady, integration of these things on our backend isnt' free... and we had 1 week to do this? I don't know... I liked CNP at first but this was sort of shady and makes me feel quite uncomfortable about the way they handle their business...

Not knocking CNP too much, it worked fine with minimal (if any) downtime when it was up... I do hope they can get the Visa situation straightened out but they'll most likely be placed in a secondary position from now on.
