Hummer H3 any good?

My Hyundai Tucson doesn't seem to handle the bad roads I have here, am thinking of getting an H3. Is it any good? Judging by the reviews, the mileage is ok.

Most say it's about 14l/100km, which is my Tucson's mileage.

I was also thinking of a Mitsubishi Pajero, but a humvie is just soo sexy.

Thoughts?

Everytime I see a H3, I think... Why didn't the owner spend 20k more and get a real Hummer

Any alternatives?

Pretty much I want a car small enough to fit through my narrow city streets and offroad-enough to get me to my house.

Stay Away!

We rented one while our truck was in the shop. The H3 is sad. Hummer should be ashamed to put their name on something like that. It was a glorified Jeep. The interior was very small, the six cylinder engine was anemic, the dash was just a collection of shitty plastic fake metal, it was pathetic. For about the same money (or less) you can buy a Jeep, or an Explorer or pretty much anything. If you have a sense of adventure and live in the US, you can buy a used Humvee on Ebay for about 25,000. It will not have all of the creature comforts, but it will get you alot of attention plus will handle most roads you normally find....

the one with the leather and stuff isn't too bad for the price . . drove one for several days a few different time' when my sts was in the shop for warranty stuff . . a bit small, the motor doesn't really pump, it's only a 5 cylinder motor I think . . runs smooth around town, only passing on the fwy will be issues. . after driving one I decided on the H2 if I get one

There's a lot of hating around here. It's a low priced vehicle and if you can get a GM discount, *really* cheap. One of my friends owns one and enjoys it, he thinks it's fun to drive. With a decent options package with some chrome fixtures, it's pretty easy on the eyes I think.

h3 tops out at under 40K+/- . . h2 start around 52K+/- the reason the original hummer did so well was the tax break . . the hummer weighed in at about 8600 lbs and any vehicle used for going to work and back that weighed over 8400 lbs you got a 100% write off every year . . the weight has recently ( the last fews years) been set to 14,500 for the 100% write

i get the h3 as a loaner car whenever I take my h2 to the dealer... I don't like them.. drive sux, the car wobbles too much, you feel like its gonna flip, and the dash is ugly..

they go from $28-40k depending on package... the h2 go up to $50-62k depending on package and you pay more on state tax when its time for registration every year with them because of its weight class (double the amount)
