Within 25 years....the average human will hook up to a computer for his (5 hour alone time)...and take what seems to him to be a 3 day vacation, in a fully real & interactive world....that couldn't be seen any differently that what we look at right now in real life.

Now take that reality....because it is going to be a reality.

And ask yourself this question.....

Did you pay the $50,000 for the 2 week (75 year long) vacation already?

Remember, your brain has a "conception" of time/space. So by this we already know it can be altered...as its simply neurons transmitting, & neuro-peptides etc.

This conception could easily be altered....infact we already partake in conception altering...in the form of drugs. But why use an organic plant when neural transmissions could be altered with slight eletrical pulses carrying small bits of information....even building entirely new neural pathways in our brain.

While we're on this "vacation" we could be broken of a habit, learn a new trade, taught a life lesson, or simply have fun.

The question is, how much could the human mind take....for how long. And what of memory? Such a long mental vacation aided by a computer would surely eat up all of our memory, or replace our existing ones. So would they need to be erased at a later date....to make room for new ones? And if so...what would be the point of taking the vacation in the first place?

Or could we simply add a new external harddrive to carry around this life experiences & information.

The possibilities for good & evil are endless & abundant.

smoking?....na....i just dabble in quantam mechanics, pyschology & artificial intelligence

it's not too deep....

an electrical impulse tells you to do/see/feel something.....the same impulses could be given to a brain thats in suspended animation

packet sniff the vision/taste/texture of a real person eating a snickers bar....the resulting effects later on the physical reality, "consequences" good & bad....& then replay it as a series of electrical impulses

it's not fucking rocket appliances

i think nano technology would have to come into play as well.....but quantum size cpu's

ones that could work into your blood stream...& attach to all the major receptors, dopamine receptors, opiod receptors etc.....in order to properly represent the entire see/touch/feel....they would have to work in unison

its not something a headset & wires could accomplish....atleast not yet

Thats great, I love studies/experiments like this. (if its real). Like the one with the woman moving her new fake are with brain thoughts.

We have along way to go yet but at least they have gotten some of the basics of this stuff, now they can really start improving on it. Can't write code for a computer if you don't know the programming language, but once you learn it the things you can build are endless.

pr0, while science is fascinating and I believe we should do things like this for the sake of technological advancement its great, it could medical implications, etc, but I have no desire to live outside of reality further than smoking some pot. yes everything is a perception and i was born with mine and like it.
