If Zango pops a window when you click an ad, what's preventing other "content surfing enhancement" makers (read: spyware makers

) from popping another webmaster's TGP when you click on a link at a TGP? The surfer would think it's normal since this is SOP for TGP traffic exchanges.

Would the general myopia of this business model translate into a massive land grab NOT for webspace/keywords/niches but USERS directly?

The impact would not just be TGPs/MGPs but tons of other methods used to generate traffic (as long as a LINK and browser window is inevitably involved in the process).

Of course, this impacts mainstream as well (ie., MFA sites)

No. Because this traffic isn't cheap in the first place.

People wouldn't buy it to feed TGPs.

I was actually referring to having it show a differing gallery. Direct to gallery traffic. This can also be tweaked to mainstream.

I am not comfortable with the whole "zangoification" effect because in addition to fucking over site builders it will result in an 'arms race' of such adware. I am not sure how much legislation will help.
