AdultEUHost Allegations Response - AlphaRed
AdultEUHost Drama Response:
The AdultEUHost network was automatically blocked on Thursday of last week by our routers when they detected an extended attack from multiple sources within the ASN, and port sniffing of our network. We did notice this block, and due to the intentsity and specific nature of the port sniffing and packet attack, we hadn't unblocked them. "AdultEUHost Leon"'s posts have only further strengthed our resolve to maintain the block of AdultEUHost's network and ASN. His allegations are completely unfounded - the network AdultEUHost resides on was initially blocked for attacking servers on our network, and causing them to crash, then contacting those clients and offering them "better" deal's on their network with the promise that they wouldn't "crash". The consequences of those actions are now being felt by their customers. We would never block a network that was passing legitmate traffic to our network regardless if they were competitors or not. We have not blocked any of our other competitor's, and that should speak massively to our credibility. Our network security/IDS system automatically blocked the network based on a pre-set base of rules that allows us to maintain a stable, and relatively attack free network to protect our customers from these sort's of internet "nuisances". We feel sympathy for those hosted on the AdultEUHost network, and wish this wouldn't have happened, but at this time we have no intentions of unblocking the ASN. Further more, we believe AdultEUHosts' intentions are very suspicious, initially with the attack, and now with these posts. If Leon wishes to speak with us, he can send us an email via an email address not hosted on the adulteuhost network, and we shall look it over. --- If there are any of OUR customers that are affected by this, you may contact me directly and we will fix it for your specific server/s. michael [@[] alphared.com |

I am glad to report that the blocking has stopped and the connectivity between AdultEUhost and Alphared is fully restored.
Customers still experiencing problems can contact our NOC to look into this. A representative of Alphared will post here also shortly. Customers of them still experiencing problems are advised to contact Alphared NOC. |

GFY Board Members,
Let me explain to both hosting companies customers what happened in this situation. Our network is protected by an intrusion detection system that protects our network from attacks, port scans, and other malicious activity from other networks on the Internet. Late last week, thresholds put in place for ASN 30913 were exceeded and that network was thus null routed until it could be investigated. Because ASN 30913 has less than a 200 Mbps normal effect on our network, we classified this as a single attack source. In the past there have been multiple attacks to our network from a broad range of IP addresses on ASN 30913 that, though our network is capable of sustaining, brought down individual targeted servers. The attacks were progressive in nature using multiple IP that would change. Directly following the attack, the owners of the servers were contacted by other hosting companies soliciting business. It is absurd for anyone to suggest that we did this to specifically disallow customers of AdultEUhost to access our network. Our customers pay us for full connectivity to the Internet and that is what we provide. Furthermore, we are paid to insure that their servers are protected from intrusion, and that is what we did in this case. I have personally talked to Leon of AdultEUHost, and he has assured me that he will investigate such attacks personally. He also gave me his word that such attacks are not being initiated by any staff member of AdultEUHost. I have thus removed the block of ASN 30913 from ASN 19166 and traffic should be back to normal between the two networks. I apologize to any member of this board that was negatively affected by this action, but it is necessary in cases to insure our customer’s server safety. James McCreary CEO, Alpha Red INC

Everything is now solved as said before with Alphared in good harmony. Both companies have no hard feeling against each other. Thanks again James for solving this. Next show I will buy you a beer. |
