Yes this is quite true. This has been a highly debated topic for years, and those that say you need different ip's or classes of ip's are wrong plain and simple.

The problem comes when you have multiple domains on the same ip interlinked obviously.

I totally agree. I have dozens of sites sharing the same ip that do fine with google I just dont interlink them all. I never had an issue with using multiple domains on one ip but I pay close attention to my linking schemes.

Interlinking and similar themes are what you have to watch out for. Otherwise, there is no problem sharing IP's.
