![]() Got the Santa sig up (YARGH!), and started decorating. I'm finally getting in the mood for Christmas (a little late since we went on vacation after thanksgiving this year)
One thing we do with our children is buy them each a special ornament each year. We try to get ornaments that reflect their interests that year for them like their favorite TV show character (SpongeBob or Dora) that year or whatever. On Christmas Eve they open their ornament, and place it on the tree. We started doing it so that when they head out on their own they'll have all the ornaments they've gotten throughout the years to help them decorate their own Christmas tree. Hopefully it will bring back some good memories from past holidays each year too. Anyone here have any fun holiday traditions you've started with your families?

We do not have any children yet.
We have put up tree 1. It is our mini tree where we put all of our miniature ornaments on. We will be putting up our large tree this weekend, have to clear out the living room first since we just remodeled spare room and most of the stuff that was previously in it, is in living room still. As for traditions. We go out and buy new miniature ornaments each year. At least one must be dated, though most are. We are hooked on the Hallmark ones. We also hunt down and buy a few nice glass ornaments for the large tree. The extended local family always makes everyone Christmas pajamas for everyone, sometimes they are bought. Everyone is supposed to wear them Christmas morning for brunch. Christmas evening we visit the grandparents for an early dinner and depending on the relatives travel schedules we trade gifts or wait until next day. Oh the extended family goes out the day after thanksgiving with tree permits and cuts every ones tree's for them. It is an all day picnic thing.
