Below is a copy and paste of an e-mail I have been going back and forth with the [email protected] people with. The level of stupidity is just absolutely hilarious. I wonder if James Jackson is even a real name, it sure sounds fake. Hell, part of the information he was wanting me to send him was included in the subject line of the e-mail.

The lack of timely and intelligent responses from the abuse departments of most ISPs and hosting companies is one of the main reasons why scammers are so successful. They flaunt a system where minimum wage slobs and lured away from Mickey Ds and Taco Bell to answer technical questions by following a chart in a manual. As soon as they fall off the chart, you get form letter #1.

Spammer and scammers laugh all the way to the bank.

If you post SPAM on my forum, you fucking deserve it. The forum, as stated in the description, is for the discussion by and about those opposed to compulsary seatbelt laws. It is not for, say, advertising new low mortgage rates.

Now, I usually don't start going after Spammer's utilities or their upstream unless they really make themselves a pain in my ass. But easy things, i.e. free e-mail accounts and blogger accounts that can be gotten shut down real easy (well, except for when you have to deal with someone real dumb like this poor sap) then yeah, its worth sending a message. It only takes a minute and I have nice little templates all made up that I keep in a text file for such occasions.

You know what though, blogger.com killed his spam blog in less than six hours from my report - on the FIRST e-mail. I was pretty impressed with that. But yeah, you are right, by and large the abuse departments are staffed with complete morons.

As if I had time to go look for that form. The standard way to report abuse is to fire an e-mail off to [email protected]ever. If I took the time to go digging for a form on every single domain, would I ever get anything done?
