I think I'm coming down with a cold. Woke up this morning with sore throat, sneezing and coughing. What are some good natural remedies for the common cold? What do you take when you get a cold?

The first thing I take is a few days off. Hop into bed and let your immune system do it's thing. Also, avoid spreading your cold onto others.

Although not a cure, taking lots of vitamin C does seem to speed recovery.

You should be over the worst of it in 3-5 days...

garlic! you can buy tasteless garlic pills.
since you already have the cold starting it will shorten your sick time. once your cold is gone, keep taking them. they are great to take everyday and they will help to stop a cold from even starting.

echinacea and lots of water, I think vitamin c is a prevented option so you would of have to be taking it for weeks before to help now.

Lots of vitamine C, very hot bath. If the cold you cought is very severe - some aspirine. Also - hot milk with honey - serves you well.

there is no such thing as a cold remedy. there are only some things that can be done to stem the symptoms of a cold. conclusive proof of that can be found in the fact that in the year 2007 and after 10 - 20 million years on this planet... that question is still being asked.
