It does to those who don't understand it.

MMA is fighting in every range of combat, striking, clinching, grappling. UFC 1 through 4 showed that grappling was a very important part of fighting. In fact showed that a grappler could defeat a striker 9 times out 10.

The last thing I'm thinking of when I have an equally large man trying to damage me is how gay I look. I guess people see what they want to see.

Mostly at Performance Jiu Jitsu in NJ. I go to Dave Adiv's place too when I can. The Saulo seminar is part of the PErformance school but it's being held at one of the student's other schools nearby because there is more room. I've also been to 10th planet, Team Micca in Vegas and I do striking at a school right by my house.

Most recently at a Jorge Gurgel affiliate school in Dayton, Oh, Walker Submission Kickboxing, although I made some infrequent treks to Jorge's main school in Middletown. I moved a few months ago and haven't had a chance to train much since. The area I'm currently in, outside of Wheeling, WV, doesn't offer many options. Eric Hibler has a school in Pittsburgh but it's a 45 minute to an hour drive.

Jorge's school is top notch! Tylo at Mayor's Money used to live with him back when he started.

I trained thai with Robert Walker at another school and followed him over when he opened up his own. I was just watching Jorge's last fight in the UFC, he was definately keeping it up, slugging it out. The 155 division is so stacked right now though, maybe when the 145 opens up, he can drop to that, where he'll be a big 145'er!

Danny Abbadi looked like a giant compared to Jorge in that fight. Did you see Jorge's fight against Jay Ireland in King of the Cage a few years back? That was a hell of an entertaining fight with both guys slugging the shit out of each other before Jorge tapped him with a guillotine in the third round. 145 would be a much better weight for him...155 is stacked and he'd have a tough go of it against a guy like Sean Sherk.

Or even worse... Frank Mir broke Tim Sylvia's arm into about 3 or 4 pieces. Infact Tim had bone fragments in his elbow that he had surgery for besides his forearm. His right forearm had 6+ inch cuts on both sides from intensive surgery.
