I need some new metal to listen to

Been listening to the same stuff lately. Lamb of God all day today.

I need some suggestions. What are you metal guys listening to?

Old and newer stuff is fine. Anything they play on a "mainstream" music station I probably won't like. Example: Avenged Sevenfold.

Mastadon "Blood Mountian" is the shit. If you aren't afraid to go a little punk...NOFX "Wolves In Wolves Clothing" is also excellent.

Those are my 2 favorite CD's of this past year.

If you want obscure old shit...Whiplash, Sacrifice, Wargasm, Holy Terror are some of my faves, but good luck finding the CDs. If you want me to FTP you some stuff, I'd be more than happy to.

New Venom, eh? I caught them live a few months back...they were great...20 years later and they still played as sloppy as they did back in the 80's.

I had tickets to see them 2 weeks ago but couldn't make it. Didn't realize they had a new one, will check it out.

Jay, any uploads would be great.

Black Sabbath fans? I just ordered the box set. First 4-5 albums digitally remastered. Can't wait.

If you like power metal I can advice Ed Guy, any of their albums is great, but I like the new Rocket Ride the most. Theatre of Salvation is great too, including their big hit Land of Miracle.

Volume 4, Sabotage, Heaven and Hell, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath are essential Sabbath albums.

Born Again with Ian Gillian is probably the most overlooked Sabbath gem...Live Evil is also quite good (Dio singing)....say what you want about Dio but that guy has a set of pipes.

Again, check out Blood Mountain by Mastodon -- it's crazy that those guys are already getting ranked up there with the likes of Maiden and Sabbath...but they so deserve it.

Mastadon, Lamb of God...some of the old bands like Slayer put out a few good songs on each CD. Metal ain't dead.
