One thing that surprises me in the adult industry is how lame the big boys are at getting good search engine listings... If you know what you are doing, there is sweet money to be made from them, even now.

Good luck on your search, I know a guy who knows a guy that is real good, but it cost my friend $12k for 5 sites optimized... I'm not sure if you're looking to pay that sort of cash.

Those keywords are too general and anyone will tell you that you should target those keywords more. For example, webcam is too general a keyword... If your website is about teen webcams, you'd be better off optimizing for teen webcams. The traffic you'll generate might be less, but it's much more lucrative traffic, thus spending less on bandwidth. Just my 2 cents... does it make any sense?

... that guy used to be a dmoz moderator, and all he did was adding his own links, (so much for the guru). he got the boot once the truth came out.

... secondly, if you are looking for someone to get traffic to your site/domain you would be better of looking for a SES (search engine spamer), a selfcalled SEO is a complete waste of time and money.

But you have to consider spamming the SE's or an SES as you call it will get you lots of traffic for one or two google updates then your PR0'ed and you get no traffic from then on to the domains involved with spamming...the best way is to just build real sites and optimze them without getting crazy and they will stay in the index and continually.

Yep, easy as pie. And "optimization" isn't really some special thing you do to the site. It's more of a technique you pick up on. Once you learn it, you tend to do it on any site you build unless you make it a point to do otherwise.

What was the Spider Trap?

There's no reason to try out anything even remotely risky with search engines. Just do the work, wait a month or two, and you'll start to see results. Continue working, then month after month you'll see your listings climb.

Exactly...if you optimize EVERYTHING you build from day one and submit EVERYTHING you build from day one, and keep in mind some general techniques and strategies...you'll do as well as any SEO/SES can do for you. A little research will take you far and save you money...Site Cloaking, huge doorway matrix's, and the rest of those old dirty trick's will only get you banned, then you're fucked.

IMHO, make your pages as truly relevant as possible, maybe toss in a few tricks here and there, get some spider food out there, and move on.

It was a few years ago.

Hundreds of people all signed up for it. You had your links with your keywords all on a page on each other's domains, and that page was spidered through blank a href tags. Hundreds of domains with the same exact set of hidden link pages. The link pop shot through the roof. I was getting #2 in Alta Vista (when AV was THE search engine) for "free porn".

Unfortunately, the people at AV didn't like their results being manipulated like that. So a whole buttload of us got thrown off various engines. To this day despite a zillion conversations with Alta Vista I can't get some of my domains back there (not as big of a deal as it used to be, but still...)

That was the last time I ever even considered doing anything to try and fuck with the engines. Now I just build my pages, make sure they're all linked somewhere, and let the spiders find em.

You can maybe get top ranking for a few good terms that way but if you are really going for the big money you need about 100...and if your going to drop the cash for 100 good sites than why not make em' Non spammy and keep them in the index? And lock your profits in for the longer term?

Spam an engine, and you will be caught - especially google!

The domain/s will be banned and you might make bank for a month but then you're fucked. Buying a new domain and doing the same again really won't help you, because google likes to build known spam techniques into their search algorithm.

So the following month you buy your new domains, try the same tricks, and you're fucked because them tricks don't work any more.

So, you find a new spamming technique which takes you just as long to implement as building a new "non-spam" optimized page would...

The way I look at it, and I will NEVER cheat Google, that bitch is my love! And yes, she does look hot! is....

For example...

You might make $2000 from a well spammed search term this month and then your listing will get kicked, and you're fucked! $0 from that listing the following months.

Optimize a page nicely with NO tricks and you might only make $300 this month and be ranking 8 or something, but that listing will stay page 1 for the next year and maybe more...

The moral of the story is... Don't fuck Google, she's my bitch!

(and I've got a 10 inch penis so you really won't please her!)

Spamming search engines still works despite what everyone on searchengineforums.com say. They seem to be leading quite a disinformation campaign there, although you can still learn a tiny bit here and there. Best tip is, experiment yourself. Try things at your own risks and see what works.

You want a search engine optimizer? Go to google and search for "search engine optimization" or something similar. Look at a few different terms, see who comes up most often.
