Paysite start up

well, okay, imagine you managed to save 15k.
Will you do a paysite, a proggy site for that cash that would defo be bringing you sales? The questions is rough, I know, many things involved... but to be certain will it be enough $ to buy content, hosting and promotion to get affilaited working and making sales?

You could start a site/prog with $15k... If you spend most of the money on feeds etc... You could get a decent return on your investment, but to do a good job, you will have to invest most of your profits for quite a while.. Keeping members happy and getting rebills is vital, and often overlooked.

Also, make sure you find a good designer who has experience... A good designer is worth his/her weight in gold. Same goes for programmers.

You would definately need to reinvest a big part of the money you generate... decent feeds are not all that expensive... a few hundred dollars a month should be enough to get you off the ground.. Some people seem to survive without spending that much on keeping the members area updated.. But if you really want to make a go of it, you will have to keep giving your members new stuff to encourage them to keep their membership.

We use a lot of feeds, and our members areas are updated daily automatically.. Putting in the money and effort was a very smart investment, as we make far more from rebills than initial signups.
