Many of us speak more than one language... how many of you run non-english sites? do you find it easier to reach top search engine spots in non-english terms because of less competition?

אני רואה שאנחנו מדברים פה בשפת הקודש. בעיקרון מנועי חיפוש זה כיוון טוב אבל לא בעברית, אין מספיק תנועה, רוב התנועה נמצאת באתרי חדשות ואתרי אינדקס כמו שאמרו פה. וגם ישראלים משתמשים במחרוזות חיפוש באנגלית.

Much easier if you are using country-specific domains as well. So if your site is in Russian and you have a .ru domain, Google.ru will more likely love it. Ideally, think country then language when it comes to SEO.
