![]() Hi,
I have been affiliate of Sex Toy Sex -affiliate program for ages already but lately i have started to question it's honesty. That is caused by some error situations. Their shopping cart automatically send email when errors occur, such as user try to order discontinued product. Lately, i have received lots of error emails but no real orders. This gives me some sort of impression of how much users actually add items to cart and ratio between that and orders seems to be very very bad. I also made my own webstore application from wich i can see how much users add items to shopping cart (cart is still sex toy sex's cart, not in my application). I realize that most users just browse the webstore and add items to cart just for fun but in my opinion, there should be at least some users who really are making an real orders. My webstore users are clicked traffic coming from "SEXY TOYS" -link so they know where they are going to. Traffic is about 300 unique visitors/day and no orders for several weeks. Does anyone else question this affiliate program honesty or technical quality?

Are you using your own pages for the products as well? I did that for a while and found that the database for products gets updated pretty frequently - which led to some days getting a bunch of emails since my pages had discontinued products but I was getting good referrals from Google for those pages - I finally switched back to just linking to the store and not worrying about updating my database all the time

Big_Red: I'm not that active on any board. I actually forgot this board for years until one day i found it again and noticed i'm already registered. :-)
Anyway, i have been using just links from my site to product categories on their webstore and banners too. Just before valentines day, they had a lot of discontinued products on their "valenties day" -page and i got every day lots of error emails. That made me wonder that they must had more visitors coming from my site than i thought and i made 0 sales. Then i changed to my own "webstore" -front (sexy-toys.org) as i thought it would improve sales but nothing has happened. Today i had some problems with my server (missing product numbers) and i started to get error emails again . It means there are visitors all the time but no orders. Anyway, i'm not accusing them of being dishonest, just wondering if others make sales with them. Actually, i used to make some money with them before but suddenly it stopped about 6 months ago. Same traffic, same site but it just stopped. That's why i tried to improve with my own webstore -front but it doesn't seem to work

remember that you will get an email even if its the same customer looking at different products (trying to add them to the cart)

Do you mean other discontinued product?
It also seems like customers are trying to add it second time if it doesnt work at first time...

I dont remember if it sends a separate email if they try the same product again - it should be easy to tell from the emails Ive been linking to them for 6 years and never had any problems with the actual sales - but its an extrememly competitive biz unless you can get some good SE listings |
