Easter dinner alternatives to ham or turkey??
So every holiday it is ham or turkey, turkey or ham. Does anyone have ANY ideas for a good alternative main dish for easter?? We did a prime rib one year but with 12 people that can get expensive. As a webmaster in adult working so many hours my wife likes me to help her out in the kitchen or at least come up with ideas for the holiday meals! HELP!

Or even just duck by itself. I happen to love duck and request it at every holiday dinner. |

How about pheasant or grouse? They'll quite nice during spring. I don't know if you like gamy meat though. But it should be tasty once you prepare the birds correctly. Pheasant is so oily though, but the grease is yummy. I have lots of bread to wipe the oil.

Maybe a picnic style dinner like fried chicken, potato salad, pie, etc. Or slow cook a roast with veges.

Bake some whole chickens. Just add salt, lemon juice, garlic and pepper. The flavor is awesome.

We alternate main dishes each holiday for this same reason. I like to slow cook a beef roast in cream of celery or cream of mushroom soup and dry onion soup mix. You can put your veggies in it about half way and all the cooking is done for you. Now they have those disposable crock pot bags and it makes clean up a snap.
