When I want my beverage to be extra cold, I will put it in the ice bin in the freezer. I try to resist ice as much as possible, I don't like the dilution from the melting ice.
For my old fashions and whiskey and Cokes, I recently bought this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Really works great. I can typically get 2-3 drinks before the ice fully melts, and in between the melting is so slow that you barely notice. I recommend the cube and sphere molds, though the others look really fun as well. Have been considering the skull and rose.
