Who is using the slowest PC for work on GFY?

I have a Pentium M 1.8ghz with 2 gigs of ram. What's under your hood? I've always wondered who has the shittiest setup.

I'm rocking a P4 at 1.8GHz with a gig of ram. This thing is slower than 90 year old at the check out line at the grocery store.

it doesnt matter how slow or fast the CPU is.....it all depends how you run it... i was doing fine with a P3 1000 Mhz, now i upgraded it to a 2ghz amd w/ 1 gb ram and tell you what, yeah you see that it's a bit faster but not THAT much... the trick is to keep windows clean and NO GAMES.. thats my suggestion ;-)

LOL. Dude ... even an 'old' PC nowadays is MUCH faster than that.

You have to remember .... PC's did not become mainstream popular like they are now, back when that system was top dog. Even my fucking granny has a Dell box with P4 in it ... Seriously .... re-assess your low spec :P You're pushing yourself out of the game with that pile of crap...

Up your min spec to something based on PIII tech at LEAST.

I have a few PC's..

Main - Intel E6600, 2gb ram, 10k raptor, Soundblaster X-Fi (great buy!), 512mb x1800XT, Antec P180, Seasonic 600w.

Alternate - Athlon 3800+, 1gb ram, 1gb 7950GX2

Chess Analysis / Audio Production - Athlon XP 2500+, 1gb ram, Echo Midi

I run them all through a KVM to my 24" Dell LCD.

I use these as my speakers 30lbs each - http://www.krksys.com/index2.php?cat...page=rokit_rp8

Oh and I have a 25 Key USB Midi controller with drum pads, an M-Audio Axiom 25, love it!

IBM XT w/ a monochrome monitor.

What did I win?

Real specs, some P4 w/ a blazingly slow 512mb of memory shared to the video card.

Yep... pheer the power.

Last year when my laptop broke down I actually had to use a Pentium 200 MMX with 96MB of ram for about a month
It had Win2K and of course I couldn´t do any graphics work or anything but it worked OK for SSH,FTP and web surfing.
I still have it around here...I´m gonna install linux on it and use it as a file server.

The slowest PC has got to be right next to me, TurboAngel's computer. It's not too ancient but it is slower than any computer I have seen in ... well, ever! It was fine until a bar owner that we know was over here a few weeks ago. I am building a website for him and he was getting restless watching me do my thing so he started surfing on TA's system.

My shifting eyes caught him smiling his ass off as he was browsing GFY here. I didn't care too much about that, but next thing I know I look up and he is on some site that he should be on. When the firewall prompt came up to allow/disallow, I disallowed him from her computer.

I need to give TA's PC some TLC, until then she is in slow-motion.

1 Ghz athlon, 768 mb ram............I keep telling myself that I'm gonna get a new one as soon as this or that comes down in price, then something better comes along and I tell myself to wait for that. My 6 year old is pissed we can't play the latest games, so I'll probably be getting a new one soon.
