"The defendants caused the illegal Internet gambling Web site?s customers to wire funds through Western Union to people in the Philippines, who worked with the defendants, the DOJ said."

i wonder if that is a reference to the same bank in the philippines that was doing high-risk processing for both gambling and adult that lost their merchant account status? both Paym0nde and Etelerape were both using that particular bank at one point...

oh, and ePassporte for sure... anyone leaving a heavy balance in their is insane w/ the current gambling witchhunt going on..

So why can I still place bets on Betonusa.com with my credit card? Is it my fault for breaking the law by using my card on their site? Or is it their processor's fault for accepting my payment in the first place?

If you are a US citizen, then gambling is illegal. It doesn not matter where the gambling enterprise is incorporated or where their processing is handled.

If you reside in the US, then you are breaking the law by gambling (with the exception of personally placing bets in Nevada).

I guess people (you) are missing the inside innuendo here....

GAMBLING OUTSIDE OF NEVADA AND PROCESSING GAMBLING TRANSACTIONS, EITHER AS A U.S. COMPANY OR AS A OFFICER/OWNER (WITH U.S. CITIZENSHIP) OF A U.S. OR OFFSHORE BASED COMPANY IS ILLEGAL!

You're not allowed to process gambling charges on US soil anymore (and haven't been for a while now).
