Would it be a good idea to have some sort of website acting as a kind of BBB for adult programs, with a complaints system, testimonials, stats and news even, or is there such a thing already?

I see there being a lot of abuse to something like that. But if it was managed well, it would be very helpful.

But one can usually tell when something is up in this business!

I own BetterPornBureau.com. We have been kicking this very idea around for awhile, but don't have the time & manpower to start it ourselves. Anybody looking for a partner project?

If so.. then don't waste your time, imo. To be a true resource for the well-being of webmasters, the site would need to be non-profit (at least it shouldn't make money from the adult industry).

I could do it, I have quite a few ideas for it as well...

Do you think the BBB would care about your domain name though?

Ok so what you're saying is I should invest my time and knowledge into keeping other webmasters informed of what's good and what's not, for nothing at all?

Hence the problem

If you're making money off of the companies that you are "watching," then isn't there a conflict of interest?

If you're point is to show the most profitable and highest converting programs.. then that is different. To objectively watch the companies for cheaters gets more complicated when money is involved, unfortunately.

I would simply pick which sponsors I want to put banners up for, I work with over 60 programs and I know a lot of very good and serious ones. I wouldn't let myself get biased for any reason, I utterly despise dishonest people/companies.

Also, I was basically thinking of keeping ref codes out of most of it, except maybe the page where I would show all my stats and ratios...

So, who would decide what makes a program good or bad? Would this just be programs or would sites that sell ad space be listed as well...sites like TGPs that sell spots?

I assume that most webmasters would make their own decision after reading the reviews, testimonials and complaints, checking the ratios etc...

I was actually thinking of having a page for sites selling traffic, ad spaces and services... Why not TGP's as well, that's a good idea!

Yea it costs money for a business to register with the BBB, the BBB isnt actually government related as most people think, its just another company.
