Quitting Smoking is a bitch..

If you don't smoke, don't start..

I'm on Chantrix, I'm chewing gum like a fiend, and I want to claw my chest apart! lol..

Ok - it's not THAT bad.. but it sucks.

I'm on the last day of the first week - under the program I can smoke today if I really want, but I'm trying not to. I jump to the 2 mg pill tomorrow and stop smoking completely.

It's actually working already.. In the afternoons and evenings I really don't care about smoking.. it's the mornings that are toughest for me..

I'm trying to do it without gaining any weight, so I joined a gym at the same time.

Yes, it is a bitch. I couldn't agree with you more. The first three weeks are the worst, however after that it was all psychological for me. I just got to a point where I asked myself every time I lighted up, "Am I going to give this cigarrette more power than my own mind?". You can do it man.

That's what I heard, and why I asked for it specifically.

Thanks for your input!

Quitting smoking is the hardest thing I've ever done.

Be strong, man.

Little trick that worked for me when needed... suck on Altoids and "inhale the fumes" when the mood strikes you. Went a long way to getting me through my first 2 months.

Exactly. I'll quit when I'm ready. Some people just stop doing it for no apparent reason, for others it takes a commitment. In the meantime...I hate the smell of it on my clothes.

I was not ready to quit myself, yet did.
True I ended up in the hospital for 3 months, still could of smoked but decided I needed to stay in bed.
I tried the gum (tasted to bad only had three pieces) btw your supposed to chew until it tingles, place between lip and gum until tingle stops and then re chew.

In the past when I was on wellbutrin and quit instantly, problem was the wellbutrins side effects made it unsafe for me so I went back to smoking.

I occasionally get the desire for tobacco every so often, my fiance still smokes just outside only now. Yet it can be done.

I tried Wellbutrin and the lower dose generic Bupropion, both of them made me feel like shit even after months. Some say that might have been the point, but I just couldn't deal, I probably don't weigh enough for such a strong medication. Good luck

I hear ya loud and clear

Quit for about the 10th time last week and it is absolutely killing me. My sleeping patterns are all over the place, go to bed at 1am and you can bet your arse that at 4 or 5am i'm wide awake.

But it's worth it, in the long run it'll be well worth quitting. I wish governments would make smoking illegal altogether

I quit for two years. Can't remember why the hell I started back up, but I regret it. Been trying to quit again for the past 6-8 months with no real progress. Mostly because it's the girlfriend who wants me to quit. I do myself as well, but right now it's more of a "dammit, i'd rather not be a smoker" and not a "i need to quit RIGHT NOW". So without that will to quit it's hard.

i quit smoking twice, both times really sucked and i put on a few pounds each time.

I found the 2nd time to be eaiser because i made a complete life change... moving to SoCal helps since no one really likes smoking here. If i stayed in PA it would be hard because i would associate with things there and probably pick up smoking again

best of luck to you
