Idiot Germans ban Tom Cruise film production due to Scientology

Moron Krauts call Scientology a cult, and that is their basis for banning the filming. Nevermind the fact that every other insipid "religion" is nothing more than a cult as well.

Scientology is for idiots - the Germans don't tolerate idiots.

They didn't put up with jew bullshit, and now they are not putting up with scientologist bullshit. It's too bad they dont' round up all the scientologists and gas them

Fucking stupid
While I think Tom Cruise is a ignorant buffoon and a few grapes short of a bunch...he makes some damn entertaining movies...and isn't that what should matter? It's not like he's killed anyone (yet) inhaled a couple million dollars worth of drugs (yet)

I'm not up on Islam, but Christians do not worship a "wooden t-shaped thing". They don't worship a Cross either. The Cross is a symbol.

A "religion" is a faith one is born into; a "cult" is a faith an adult joins voluntarily.

A lot of people join religions later on in life. If Bob is born into a Jewish family its a religion, but if he converts at the age of 25 he's a cult member?

officially. Do you know anything about Count Stauffenberg or German history at all? Then you might be able to understand why Tom Cruise is NOT the right person to impersonate him or make a movie about that topic at all...

I think Scientology is exactly what the German dude said it was, a scheme to make money masquerading as a religion. And if people insist on forking over their money, well it's their money.

IMO, Martyrs are dangerous.

You can also be born into a cult. Such as cults that support certain acts with children. The mother gives birth to the child then its inducted into the cult as a member.

wait a sec - it's not that easy. you can't simply say "And if people insist on forking over their money, well it's their money."

it's also about protecting those that are (maybe not yet) able to judge for themselves.

example: scientology opened a new headquarter in germany (they are not forbidden there, but they are not considered a church what pisses them off cause they would save millions in taxes otherwise). in front of their headquarter is a bus stop where every day hundreds of pupils wait for their bus. now these assholes started to apporach the kids with their dumb questionaries and stuff and tried to lure them into their building. theoretically this practice is forbidden, but they simply don't care. as long as it brings new members

Sure it's a religion. Look up the definition of the word.

If you think that what you must consider "religions" weren't a form of mind control or way of making money, then you haven't bothered learning very much Western History.

Christianity was widely considered a "cult" as recent as 1700 years ago.

You give credit to the other "cults" simply because they've been around longer, have more of a following, and their desire to control the minds of their followers or absorb their pocketbooks maybe isn't as obvious as it once was.

Personally, I think Sting put it best: "Men go crazy in congregations, but they only get better one by one"

That's what all religious movements do. They hang out at schools and create youth groups to try to get us as kids before we can think for ourselves. Anyone who doesn't think this is totally fucked up should watch the brainwashing in Jesus Camp. Truly the most disturbing footage I've seen in recent memory.

your parents never took you to church, nor force you into child baptism? you are a product of your parents religion, you can choose to walk away from it - but most parents take their baby into a church or tell them that they are part of some organized religion, its not by choice as said - its handed down.

call it whatever you want.. brainwashing etc. but the truth is - your born into it - meaning it already exists in your family. hate it or not - if there was a bible in there, your were born into the process of what they beleive or not believe.. or do you think that parents have no influence on children in how they think, act or react? the parents are influenced by the "good book" and "golden rule"... therefore you are.

Scientology doesn't teach faith.. Religions do. Both steal your money, both were built for money and forcing people into submission. Both are fucked and Scientology is a Cult, like most Religions.

However, religion, does do one thing correctly, they teach faith. And it doesn't mater what religion you believe in or not, as long as you have pure love, you will get all the faith you need. Nothing else is important.

If you don't understand that, it's because you have been brainwashed into ignoring the facts around you.

Yes he was. He said some pretty stupid things in interviews like there is no such thing as a chemical imbalance and that he knows because he read books on the subject. Then he ripped on Brooke Shields for taking anti depressants. After all of that people were pissed at how he was acting. I guess in his religion they do know believe in mental illnesses and medication for them. I also think his dancing on the furniture about how much he liked Katie Holmes didn't help him either.
