I need to plan this now so the family can make themselves available. What's the best place to find vacation homes to rent in the U.S? We're looking for a typical white christmas and a house big enough for 8 people? Is there a good site?

Try those. We're going to the Bahamas for Christmas, and I found our rental at one of those sites. Can't remember which.

I'd say the # 1 spot would be in Canada - Whistler.

yes whistler is probably the best xmas vacation spot around...if you want something in the US Aspen would probly be pretty cool too
