Because the Tour is one of the most intense and harsh sporting events in the world. It's loads of fun to watch, too.

They probably won't.

He lied about his training locations, though, and in combination with the checkups he missed, it's pretty damn suspicious.

Sounds weird to me.
Why would Rabobank withdraw him now when he is 90% sure to win.

They might know something we don't.

Honestly it says he is guilty if they withdraw and thats a bigger blow to cycling than if they continue and he haven't been tested positive.

Its saying on Danish news sites its because he told everyone he was in Mexico when he some of the time was in Italy.
He should have admitted this to his team.

Tour de France Leader Michael Rasmussen Drops Out, AFP Reports

By Michael Sillup

July 25 (Bloomberg) -- Tour de France leader Michael Rasmussen's Rabobank team pulled him out of the cycling race for breaking undisclosed rules, Agence France Presse reported.

Rasmussen, 33, who won today's stage in the Pyrenees, was dropped by Denmark's national team four days ago for not informing anti-doping officials of his whereabouts twice while training in Mexico this year. He said he made an administrative error and was cleared to race by Tour de France officials.

The Rabobank team hasn't decided whether it will continue in the race tomorrow, team spokesman Jacob Bergsma told AFP.

The Cofidis team exited the race today after one of its riders failed a doping test. The Astana team dropped out yesterday after its leader, pre-race favorite Alexander Vinokourov, failed a test for blood doping.

The race ends July 29 in Paris.

I can't seem to remember any big cyclist who hasn't been involved in doping.
Alot of them admitted it afterwards ... with something shitty like "i only did it once" ... yeah right

or even worse, they keep saying they didn't ... like vinokourov

There has been a couple cyclists from my country who everybody liked because they won often ... just to hear one day they've been taking doping.
Look at former big cyclists who are older now, they look and act like they're mentally challenged ... they must have been doing some serious shit back in the day LOL

They should have their names removed from all results, give back their earnings + interest, get suspended for life and never get a job in the sports biz anymore

Alot of them are already rich by the time they get caught.

I'll never watch the tour again. Rasmussen has been clean in every test in this tour. Fuck le tour, the French, fuck UCI and the media that wanted this outcome. There was a lot of confusion about that report your where-abouts system anyway.

They tested him he was clean, plus he was the best rider. That should be enough!

Where does it say the Tour forced Rabobank to do this? Do you know this for sure or is it just your opinion?

Negative publicity is not good for a large bank like rabobank.
