That chair is pure torture. I had one at the last real job I had. It was terrible. The reason they are so good for your back is you can't sit in them for more than 30 minutes at a time. I grabbed a folding metal chair and put that at my desk with much better results.

I'd recommend going to an office furniture store and sit in one for about 20-30 minutes and see what you think. It seems to be about a 50/50 split between people who love the chair and people who hate it. Don't buy it just because of the hype and nerd appeal.

Better than those new Steelcase ones? They look super ergonomic.

I had one in my office a few years ago.

I have a cheaper version of the same type of chair in my home office.

I'd recommend them.

I would love to know how you can possibly hate the world's most comfortable chair. This tirade leads me to believe that you have no fucking clue how to sit in a chair.

I am at my ideal body weight. Maybe the problem is that only fatasses like the chair. If you'd read my post I said "It seems to be about a 50/50 split between people who love the chair and people who hate it." It is NOT a fact that the chair is the world's most comfortable. Everyone in the entire world does not share your opinion of this overpriced hunk of shit.

I used to sell office seating for a living and Herman Miller made good chairs. But the best was this one.

http://www.labofamunch.com/

It constantly moves as your sitting, you don't notice it, so changing your posture and spine. The problem with sitting for a long time is the body is not designed to be in one position for very long.

it is good advice to sit in a chair for 20min.

i advise against foam seats.. after a few months you will depress the foam and merely be sitting on the flat supporting base. your ass will get sore. the aeron chair has a mesh bottom to solve this issue

I love mine but if you are a bigger person go for size C as opposed to the most commonly available size B.

I can't seem to find a chair that doesn't cut me at the knees. Even with a hassock for my feet, I am never really comfortable. Any short ppl use the HM chair?

Along the same lines .. anyone ever find a really good keyboard for small hands?

I tried that exact same chair hated it as well. Gave it up after a couple miserable days. I just couldn't get comfortable in it; and Babaganoosh was right - made me want to get up and away from it after a few minutes. Maybe it's because I'm only 5'10", 167 pounds *shrug*.

Best bet would be, as the someone else said, find a furniture store and sit in chairs for a while.
