I'm sure that's true but it doesn't necessarily make VOD a superior product.

Paysites get rebills, re-joins etc, obviously not at the 80% level, however the paysites give referring webmasters a much larger share of the gross billings than a VOD company will.

In the end it's all about $$ per click or per impression, not about whatever statistics you can focus on to make your product look superior.

But how can you say you have the highest vod payouts? It appears your payout rates are no different than yappodollars, adultrental or hotmovies.

last time I checked 91% of customers who bought dvd's bought them again but this counts if they come back 5 times as 5 different transactions. Wish I had a program for that

This is what i was thinking too. plus even if the vod share was larger, it's still just a share of maybe 10 bucks when the surfer buys the smallest package of minutes and realizes he needs one more clip to bust his load, so he makes a second purchase and never comes back once he realizes if he had bought a membership, his money could have bought him spank material for a whole month.

I'd like to know how fast the percentages drop after 2 purchases. How many make a third, fourth and so on.

hehe the 15 minute package is 3.95 Even if i got 60% it's barely 2 bucks, so a surfer would need to return to make FIFTEEN more purchases to equal a $35 signup. What percentage of your users make 10 or more purchases?

VOD is a great product to offer users. I personally push and do about 5-6k worth of sales with MovieDollars (sucks I only get 25% of that though) but I love their setup and the fact they have titles for just about every sub micro niche you can think of...

XonDemand.com looks good and nice to see you have some titles in there that i push through your competitors. Keep up the good work...

What makes more since, spend $30 and maybe forget to cancel, take 2 minutes to wack-off, and wait 3 more weeks to spank again... Real good use of surfers money.

Or.. Find your movie, start paying, spend 20 cents after you wack-it, and be done until you get time to do it again.

Or, lets not forget.. VOD sites have 30,000+ DVD's, and since no standard paysite offers that. And who wants to drive 30 minutes to the video store?

VOD members often will purchase a smaller package at first, but they aren't stupid. They understand the smallest package is the most per minute, so to get 8cents a minute, they need to buy the biggest package. And most do.

hey now, i understand it. I even push it. I just don't think it's the end all beat all. I'm really knocking the big bold statement the thread made about 80% of users make a second purchase. It was made to seem like a bigger deal than it is.

Your point about the surfer spending 20 cents to whack it to a vod site reinforces my point. The average vod surfer is looking to squeeze every dime out of his porn dollar. That's that much longer between purchases, and that much longer i need to wait for that user to equal a full signup at a traditional site.

Like I said though, i use both methods, just questioning the validity of the original post and not the fact that he has an 80% return. I believe it, I just don't think it means that much in the big picture.

A "repurchase".. the return rate of a verified vod member is really high.

98% of paysites are a ripoff and it's hard to find that 2% in your niche that isn't. No paysite has 30,000 full dvd's.. VOD buyers have gripes too, like the lack of mass downloads.

I guess the best way to put it, find a paysite doing more sales than a vod site. One site vs one site, vod is owning paysites.

The big picture, well VOD companies are about 1000 times more expensive to start up than even a major affiliate. They take the volume game to a new level. Honestly, paysites don't even compete with vod sites, in anyway.. VOD sites do more sales, more rebills and 'can' earn more money, with volume.

Revshare programs and VOD are the same game, time and volume.

I used to own 48 paysites and leased monthly content for my members to enjoy. I would pay-out 50% rev-share to webmasters and I could not get more then 6 months of recurring sales from any 1 customer.

The VOD model has HUGE amounts of movies that no paysite can compete with no recurring fees. here is the break down on the vod model

standard 25% webmaster
plus 5% webmaster referral
20% studio

50% of all sales gets paid-out before processing fees/employees/bandwidth/hosting/storage/etc

very little profit per sale but Volume is the key.

true we all have the same rev-share % but in terms of retention and customer re-orders we have the highest lifetime value per customer. Maximize your monthly income with satisfied surfers and loyal customer?s means recurring lifetime profits for you.

81.67% of our customers make more then 1 purchase and our avg purchase is not 3.95 rather $19.11 this month

not sure how many users make 10 or more purchases, I would need to research more data.
