WND ELECTION 2006

Democrat for Senate: Death penalty for practicing 'gays'

Candidate says incumbent Republican not advocating biblical values enough
Posted: March 7, 2006
1:00 a.m. Eastern

A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Ohio wants to make homosexual behavior a capital crime punishable by the death penalty.

Merrill Keiser Jr. is a trucker with no political experience, but he hopes to beat fellow Democrat Rep. Sherrod Brown in the May primary. The winner will try to unseat Republican incumbent Sen. Mike DeWine, assuming he wins the GOP primary.

Statement from Mayor Rudy Giuliani

For Immediate Release Contact: Maria Comella
Monday, September 24, 2007 646-943-7890

Statement from Mayor Rudy Giuliani

New York City - Mayor Rudy Giuliani released the following statement to be read at the National Rally To End The Threat Now being held today at noon:

"I have always been proud to stand with the Conference of Presidents and speak out against terrorists and their supporters. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is an enemy of America, Israel, and the entire free world. We should never remain silent when evil makes an appearance.

"We will not allow a nuclear Iran. Period. We will work with our allies and use every tool at our disposal to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear power. That is not a threat. It's a promise. Iran is the leading state-sponsor of terrorism, the host of Bin Laden's son and other top al-Qaeda leaders, and the supplier of weapons being used to kill American soldiers in Iraq. His promises to destroy America and Israel should not, can not, and will not be ignored.

"It is a sad reflection on the United Nations that the General Assembly and Human Rights Council have ignored these actions and instead focused attention on demonizing the State of Israel.

"You are standing here today to tell the world that Ahmadinejad's threats and actions have not gone unnoticed by all. I am proud to stand with you."

1. Clearly Iran DOES have gays because 2 guys were hanged for it.

2. The Iran President "almost" kissing another guy is pretty fucking gay.

get an education ( not at your local trailer park ):

Homosexuality is a crime and forbidden in most of Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc. In other countries, this is not the case, Turkey being an example. Despite the laws, some Muslim nations are widely believed to have a thriving underground homosexual subculture.

In Iran, A lot of gay guys have sex changes, and Lesbians do the same, because while homosexuality is forbidden and punishable by death in Iran, Transsexualism is accepted and protected by law. I believe the government even pays for your sex change.

That's not a fair argument. There are always crazies who run for political office in the country. KKK members, communists, Nation of Islam members, etc. They rarely win (if ever). There is a huge difference in a country that has people like that run and get slaughtered in the election vs countries that actually elect people like that.

Still, we are not a country that should be talking about homosexuality and how tolerant we are toward it. We have a political party and percent of our population that believes being gay is purely psychological and a choice. We also had over half our states make it a crime to have homosexual relations until the courts repealed it in 2003. If it wasn't for that court ruling, you could serve up to 15 years in prison for having sex with someone in the same sex.

A large percentage of American Christian's also believe that gays should be put to death, in fact the bible says so. I think the US should worry about educating the population to prevent the persecution of gays in it's own country before it starts worrying about the rest of the world.

fine ...

You have death penalty ???

You can answer yes, because you are one of 6 countries ( of the whole world ) that have that cruel punishment :

* 1. China (at least 1,010 but sources suggest the real tally is between 7,500 and 8,000)[11]
* 2. Iran (177)
* 3. Pakistan (82)
* 4. Iraq (at least 65)
* 5. Sudan (at least 65)
* 6. United States (53)

That is state sponsored, right ....

We think it is sick ( aside from all the errors commited ) ... But the USA is YOUR country, so you do as you wish IN your country. The day YOU are fed up, YOU will revolt.

On gays, we have gay weddings, equal rights, etc ... You don't. So you don't kill them, but you deny any equal rights as other citizens...
But again, it is YOUR Country ....

AS for the lynching, the point was that 50 years in the history of the world is not even as big as a drop in the ocean.. Iran, and the others, will change and evolve with time.

Over 80% of the US population including president George W Bush claim to be practicing Christians. As a Christian you promise to put your god above all others and to live by his teachings in the bible. A Christian isn't given the option of what parts of the bible they want to follow, god's word is black and white.

Leviticus 20:13
"And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

So one could assume that over 80% of the US population believes that gays should be put to death, and since studies show that approximately 8% of the population is gay, that leaves only 12% of the straight US population that believes gays have the right to live.

Pretty fucked up, I don't think we're in any position to be pointing fingers.

Yes it is, but it's not because someone is gay or black. The death penalty is used for extremely violent criminals in extreme cases. I am torn on the death penalty issue as I don't necessarily agree that a government should take the life of someone. However, when I hear of a man rape and bury a 6 year old girl alive, it's kind of hard not to wish for some justice.

The death penalty is a state issue in almost all cases. There is no need to revolt against your federal government. Simply move to a state that doesn't have the death penalty. Or vote for politicians who want to abolish it.

And I am one vote in a country of 250 million people. I'm certain you don't agree with every single thing your country does. I don't agree with our laws against homosexuals at all. Unfortunately we have too many religous nuts and anti-gay propoganda to do much these days.

And lets not act like you guys are the bastions of gay rights for the past century. You only passed a law in 2005 that made it legal, and that was only because the courts in your country had already made it legal. Over half your country was against same sex marriages before this was enacted. It's like the US passing all the civil rights laws after the courts had already told them what they were doing was wrong.

But I don't think we will be too far behind you guys. There are a lot of states that want it legalized, and it will happen over the coming years. I wouldn't be surprised to see up to 10 states allowing it in the next 5 years. Since marriage is a state issue, I think you'll always find states supporting it and others not.

I don't see how they will evolve without a government setup like ours. Almost all the major changes in civil issues have been brought on by courts or public opinion. Countries in the Middle East don't operate that way, and the people are at the mercy of the decisions made by the people running it.

Like the US, Iran is a representative democracy. In the end the laws exist because they are the will of the majority. The US has the luxury of a separate court system and constitution that can overrule the government and protect minority rights, but other than that the government setup isn't so different. In most middle eastern countries it's religion that keeps them in check instead of the courts, that's where the big difference is.

To be fair, most Christians don't go by the Old Testament anymore.

Due to how their Republic is setup, it's very difficult (near impossible) to bring reform through votes. Many groups and parties that look for reform are forbidden in Iran. Their leaders have to be pre-screened by the Council of Guardians. It's basically like having Bush's cabinet decide which 8 people you can vote for in the next Presidency.

Good point... but the reasoning behind that change is that the church is no longer the state, and doesn't have the power to enforce capital punishment. Just because the new testament no longer requires christians to put homosexuals to death doesn't necessarily mean they've changed their position I don't think.

Almost like a 2 party system

All elections are fixed one way or another, here they're bought. Im curious as to when the last president went into office without millions of dollars sitting in his bank account. Technically the US is free and anyone can run for office, but realistically that's not the case.

I agree. It's a two party system rigged so that the two parties have to win. It's near impossible to get on enough ballots to compete, and debates and such block out other candidates from TV time.

Giving nuclear weapons to Iranian psychopaths would cause terrible pain in the entire world.

Iranians sell their advanced technology to Islamists (see Iraq, Lebanon...etc) who use them against the US and Israel.

Al Qaeda leaders live in Iran. http://www.csmonitor.com/2003/0728/p01s02-wome.html

Offering nuclear weapons to Islamists would be completely crazy.

It's pure suicide, every Occidental capital+ Israel would become a target for a new kind of nuclear suicide bombers. We would have to give up even more freedom than we did since 9/11. Even peaceful Europeans are prepared to fight to prevent this from happening.

BTW i find any comparison between the United States and Iran completely ridiculous.

If you believe Iran is so cool, then bring your family over there.

You are spoiled brats who don't know what life is in a Third World nation.

Fucking stupid American citizens who travel to Mexico, will only see the beach and fellow Americans, and then return to the States claiming that Mexico is a paradise and everybody should move there.

You are so fucking stupid, don't you even know how life is for the average Iranian or the average Mexican?

Our leaders are smarter than you, and you are always whinning about their stupidity, but look at yourself first.

Bush is a genius compared to all of you.

* 2. Iran (177)
* 3. Pakistan (82)
* 4. Iraq (at least 65)
* 5. Sudan (at least 65)
* 6. United States (53)

1. What is the source of your above statistics?

2. Is there anything about the United States that you admire or like?

I have travelled much of the mideast and I can tell you without a doubt that homosexuallity is common in those countries. Women are just not out in society like women are in the west so I guess doods spend a little bit too much time alone with each other. Kind of shocked me because you would think the western media would play that up more but for some reason they tend to not even mention it.

Of course, one could make the argument that the US government also controlls who has a shot at the presidency. Without the backing of the RNC or DNC, you have no chance.

I used to believe in the death penalty. You kill someone, and we kill you back. Simple.

But that's letting them off easy. Instead, we should lock them up in a cold dark damp cell with no light, no anything including no mattress or bedding, and never ever allow them out of that cell until they die of natual causes.

Ok would Christians explain to me why they continue to use the OLD Testament to justify their action when Jesus CLEARLY said he was here to create a NEW Covenant because the old one WAS NOT WORKING. He also makes it clear the Christians are to follow the NEW Covenant not the old one if they wish to get into heaven.

Kind of sucks when an atheist has better understanding of the rules of your religion than you do.

Quote:
Over 80% of the US population including president George W Bush claim to be practicing Christians. As a Christian you promise to put your god above all others and to live by his teachings in the bible. A Christian isn't given the option of what parts of the bible they want to follow, god's word is black and white.
Yet many Christians drink, smoke, do drugs, overeat, have premarital sex, have anal sex and oral sex. Many Christians don't even go to church on a regular basis. Now if I actually believed there was some omnipotent god that created everything and could squash me like a bug in less than a nanosecond I wouldn't be fucking around with his rules.

Quote:
So one could assume that over 80% of the US population believes that gays should be put to death, and since studies show that approximately 8% of the population is gay, that leaves only 12% of the straight US population that believes gays have the right to live.
There isn't any more than 3% gaydom

Pakistan is an Islamic country. They have nuclear weapons and we don't seem to mind. In fact, Bush removed all sanctions from them after 9/11. He has even provided them with $4.2 billion dollars in military aid. They were also designated a major non-Nato ally under Bush which means they can purchase advanced military technology. Last year we sold them a ton of high tech missiles.

I mean it's not like Pakistan was on our list of state-sponsored terrorism until Bush removed them after 9/11. Or a home to a ton of terrorist camps. Or had an administration behind a plot to blow up some planes coming to the US with liquid explosives. I'm sure they aren't a country that has released a ton of militants from organizations listed as terrorists by the US and UK. Or even allowed released militants to work in their own government. And of course this country is not one that supported the Taliban pre-9/11 and is rumored to be the home of Bin Laden.

Oh wait, they are all those. But if you let us use a few of your airports and provide cheap call centers for this country, your hero George Bush will turn the other cheek.

Yes America is the most terrible, screwed up racist country on the planet and has made barely any progress since it's inception. They should look towards all those great countries in Africa, Asia, South and Central America and the Middle East(specifically Iran) for lessons on how to treat your fellow man.

A bunch of frigging wankers with opinions which don't matter a toss to anyone

They obviously forgot why Iranian people have a dislike for the US govt in particular and why they prefer to have nuclear capability. DUH????

If Ahmadinejad had a distaste for the US already - he just needs to spend two hours watching TV during his visit and that distaste will be even more founded.
