is there anything you can do with the app? is there a way for iphone users to use an iphone app that is distributed outside of Apple?

I don;t think it can be done without jail breaking the phone, Have you considered a web app? with web apps the user can just bookmark the web-app and then an Icon shows on the quick launch home screen list.

I think you can post your rejected app to any number of "illegal" app stores.
