Can You Sell Anything to Anybody?

You know the old saying about the salesman who is so good he can sell ice to Eskimos?

I feel like that's often the case with the adult biz. There's so much out there for free and yet consumers keep buying. Will they buy anything if you package it right? Could anyone sell admittance to an "invisible girl" porn site?

I'm exaggerating, but my point is do you think it's true that if you're a good enough sales person you can sell pretty much anything to anybody?

if i had the time, or anyone has the time and knowledge of there product,,with a gift gab..anyone can be persuaded to buy something,, its the person who delivers the sale and how he delivers the sale.. give me the time and a product, i can sell it....the sales person has to be passionate on what he sales and believe in the product...and have the desire to be succesful at his job as a salesperson..

Nobody ever wants to be "Sold"

That being said, sales is simple when you break it down to it's simplest form.

My product has this feature...
Which is an advantage because...
that benifits you in the following ways...

Is that something that intersts you? (trial close)

Nope, which is probably why I'm not a salesman.

But I did do a stint as a door to door salesman for a while, at which time I did get good enough to sell anything to anyone. It was quite the experience! It just wasn't the right path for me so now I'm quite out of practice at the various sales techniques.

I'll make that claim. I can sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves.

Hey go for it. Some years ago I watched this guy on ebay sell something stupid like a chewed pen cap but he had this incredibly funny and entertaining spiel on his ad and I really wanted to bid on that damned pen!

I can sell a product that I believe you need, but I have trouble selling things I know you don't really need or want. Used to work in a kid's clothing store and they were always on me to push that extra headband or matching teddy bear and I hated doing it.

So yeah, I'd love to see a pro in action!
