GFY MODS, DirtyFranck Kindly Step Inside ! <EPASS DRAMA>

Not sure if this is just rumour or what but i was just informed somone posted a list of epassporte usernames and passwords on gfy about a week ago and that the user was banned and thread was taken down immediatley but not before some ass clown posted a screenshot/list on there blog ..thereby having dirtyfranck call them out for being scum...

Is this true? IF it is can you please tell me the username of the person that posted the thread on gfy and the person with the blog....

The reason im asking this is.. if this is true ..my username and password may have been on that list and might help me with current dispute with epass concerning the $4500 that was scammmed from my account.

the simple fact alone that these usernames and passwords were posted shows that epass was probably hacked and im not at fault for my account being "compromised"...

Thansk for your help

A search page revealed usernames and passwords from a site.

That info was posted here.

If you had the same username and password for the site as you used for epass, then they may have used that info to login.

Well the list was from traffichanger.com the guy who posted the list with all the people's usernames/passwords on his blog is below.

http://www.gfy.com/members/minusonebit/ (minusonebit)

Basically unless you used the same user/pass everywhere you were safe but many were not and the list was pretty long.

Here is the story on his blog with links (not working anymore) to the password/username list.

http://www.icwt.us/index.php/2007/09...poor-security/

He wasnt the main guy who posted the first list, he was just a moron looking for attention.

It's true a moron did post a list with webmasters names and passwords, but it didn't have specific "epass" user id's or pw's. As stated above if you use the same user id/pw combo at epass and your sponsors. Then you would be in trouble. If you used different ones you have nothing to worry about.

You can likely find the list still, because I'm pretty sure it was in google's cache. You would just have to find out what to look for.

It was NOT a list of ePassporte UserIDs and passwords.
I believe it was a list from a traffic broker that had their webmasters UserID/Password to log in to their site.

It was in there cache however they removed it, Unless someone copied it and I am sure there are people who did you couldn't get it again not from google anyway.

Thanks for clearing this up for me.people ..i did not belong to traffic hangers so they had no information on me..also my epassporte password was only used on the epassporte website and no other place on the interent.

michale why dont you answer this question for me.

Why doesnt epassporte require a securty question and personal phone call to the account holder before any changes can be made to an account? I mean epassporte is aware of the phishing emails being sent. Also they see there clients are being scammed and they see how its happening. How after seeing what happend to my account am i able come up with some securty measures that would greatly hinder scammers from being successfull comprimising epassporte accounts but ..epassporte is unable to do this after numerous accounts are breached in the same way as mine?

It was a list of member passwords, emails, usernames, and phone numbers from a traffic broker.

Here's the guy who started it all by giving others a way to find the cached page in google:
http://www.gfy.com/fucking-around-and-business-discussion/772961-holy-fuck-password-info-safe-wrong.html

Here's the guy who ACTUALLY COPIED the whole list word for word and POSTED IT ON GFY, BREAKING A MAJOR GFY RULE JUST FOR THREAD VIEWS, and he's still not banned:
http://www.gfy.com/fucking-around-and-business-discussion/773076-traffichangar-google-cache-drama-2007-a.html

And here's the guy who actually took the list and allegedly emptied out epassporte accounts, and he is also apparently not banned:
http://www.gfy.com/fucking-around-and-business-discussion/773087-traffichangar-google-cache-epass-account-draining-starts.html

Michael works for epassporte so im guessing he can answer the questions or atleast ask for answers from people inside epassorte who do have the answers.

its pretty obvious michael doesnt make the policies there but im sure any input he gives to epassporte is given alot of consideration.

Example....if michael finds out how scammers are taking money out of accounts here on gfy ..then goes back to his people at epassporte and informs them of these methods im sure that would influence there policies and protocol concerning certain situations...like the changing of an epass buissness account email..password ..and contact information without epassporte actually contacting the accout holder other than by an email after the fact notifiying them there information was chagned already.

I agree with you...
epassporte should require a security question OR personal phone Number to the account holder...

I don't feel anymore like giving my two cents in threads that don't concern me but I said several times and still think that epassporte has basically a monopoly and they couldn't give shit about you, or how they are perceived.

Also, keep in mind that epassporte is based somewhere offshore, has call centres somewhere else, while Michael lives in Denmark (?) and his job is basically monitoring GFY and answering ICQ's, at least this was the case in the past.

I don't want that it sounds disrespectful to him because he does a great job in being friendly, professional and willing to help, but I am afraid that unlike you claim, the scenario where he collects input from webmasters and then gives suggestions to his bosses on how to improve things... I am afraid this is not happening. Or maybe he gives suggestions but no one bothers to implement them anyway.

again, no disrespect to Michael, im saying it only because often i saw people thinking that Michael has actually an important position in epassporte, while from my impression it is not the case

so while I feel sorry for your loss and for everyone els'es problems with epassporte, I think that epassporte makes millions each month and one more "epoassporte drama" thread on GFY doesn't concern them at all.

it's not the right thing, but I call it as it seems to me

perhapos Chio's new system will force epassporte to do some changes but i don't think they are shitting their pants yet

i hope the situations get solved for you, but it doent look like it

but i doubt that after all these 4(?) years in business, they will sudenly change their policies on account security because someone has stolen $4k from you

peace

These are the facts:
  1. Somebody came on here and posted about a search engine that had cached the poorly designed admin panel of Traffic Hanger, which showed names, e-mails and passwords in the clear of all its users.
  2. I posted it on my blog as a news story. I linked to the cached search engine page in my blog post. The search engine page has since been deleted from cache.
  3. Plenty of people went ballistic, whining and bitching and moaning about the fact that I linked to the search engine page.
  4. Someone else came along and posted another thread which had the entire contents of the cache page here. That post was later removed.
  5. If you were not a customer of Traffic Hanger, or if you were a customer of Traffic Hanger and did not use your Traffic Hanger password as your password elsewhere (like an idiot), you were safe. If, like an idiot, you used your Traffic Hanger password as your password for your e-mail, your ePasspote account, your bank vault, then you were probably not safe but rather a victim of your own stupidity.

Your facts are correct but if a guy forgets to put out a candle and his house catches on fire, you walk buy and toss some gas on the house. He is an idiot for letting his house catch on fire but you sure do not help by helping the fire burn more. Still not your fault but not right either

Thanks to you, people who never would see that list actually did see it. That it was posted on gfy was bad enough but you posted it somewhere else where other people than the people who browse gfy come. And still you act as if you did nothing wrong. Youre a piece of shit. A dumb fucking moron and i hope will get what you deserve. Fucking punk ass idiot.

Hey fuckhead, I was not a customer of Traffichanger I have never brought shit through them and I was on the list.

Do me a favour shut the dribbling shit that comes out from that mouth of yours, go back to delivery driving and we will all pray for that random mugging that is coming your way.

Why are you complaining about their lax security policies only after you fell victim to them?

What happened to you sucks balls on many levels, but it was also totally avoidable on many levels, not only by ePassporte but by yourself as well.

its pretty obvious michael doesnt make the policies there but im sure any input he gives to epassporte is given alot of consideration.

Example....if michael finds out how scammers are taking money out of accounts here on gfy ..then goes back to his people at epassporte and informs them of these methods im sure that would influence there policies and protocol concerning certain situations...like the changing of an epass buissness account email..password ..and contact information without epassporte actually contacting the accout holder other than by an email after the fact notifiying them there information was chagned already.

sorry, but that was pretty funny
