Good News for Mobile phone owners in California

http://www.wired.com/politics/law/news/2007/10/tmobile

If the T-Mobile lawsuit is successful, the outcome could require cell phone carriers, at least in California, to unlock cell phones upon a customer's request...

No early termination fee and no locks on phones

I'm interested in seeing which way this goes. Could this be the start of the downfall of Apple?

Yup, but then you would likely have to pay full price up front to get a phone from them. The low price phones are a result of the locking (which can be reversed easily enough). So instead of free Moto Razr2, everyone would be paying $200-$300 up front.

Yeah, way to go.
