:stop FTV video, Now they have others involved, they will start ratting on each other now.

check it. Who is this Aaron character? and how is he associated with the video...won't be long until somone close to it starts singing like a canary...that's how they get you!
Quote:
The car is owned by a former Phoenix dentist, KPHO-TV in Phoenix reported.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials called the incident an "extreme violation of the posted speed 65 mph speed limit."

The video, which has been yanked from the Web site, showed the vehicle attempting to break the car's previous top speed of 171 mph on a freeway traveled by hundreds of thousands of motorists every day.

"To do it in the middle of the city at 220 mile an hour -- that's crazy, in my opinion," said Brian Kern, a Phoenix resident.

The driver's face is never seen in the video, but he describes how he could have gone faster if there hadn't been other cars in the way.

"I travel this very stretch of freeway daily, and many times late at night just at the times this clown is racing, and what if it was me that he didn't see?" asked a KPHO-TV viewer by e-mail. "I don't really want to die."

Near the end of the clip, the man challenges someone to top his record, a statement that produced chills for one Phoenix motorist.

"I take my son to day care, and we have to drive over that way," said Kimberly Green.

Attempts to track down the Lamborghini owner at his Phoenix mountain home were unsuccessful. E-mails and phone calls went unanswered.

One person associated with the video, an Arizona State University student named Aaron who didn't give his last name, also refused to talk about the video.

After the student was told that the incident was under investigation, the video disappeared from YouTube, the television station reported.

Only a matter of time now. The big question is, why the fuck do I care? but I do!

I can say with a reasonable amount of security that the fine folks of Phoenix that drive that road or take their kids to day care on that street have nothing to fear from someone else trying to outdo robs land speed record. I seriously doubt there is anyone within a few hundred miles if not farther that even own that type of car.

I do not agree with with Rob did but some of the comments in that story are well um stupid.

"I travel this very stretch of freeway daily, and many times late at night just at the times this clown is racing, and what if it was me that he didn't see?" Um I guess you would of been passed really fast and thought what the fuck was that? No you wouldn't of been dead, nobody ended up dead except maybe 2 million flying insects (that may have messed up the paint no?) also was the actual time of the night even shown in the video?

"I take my son to day care, and we have to drive over that way," Then I also guess your safe too captain obvious. Day care... get it? now if you took your kid to night care I may have some feelings for your statement, yet then again if you took your kid to night care I would probably think your a hooker anyways and your first concern would be trying to track down this potential client.

The story is not about the speed, its not about being recorded and put on the web, that shit happens every day on the net and on the roads.

The story is the Lambo. Put the Lambo in the story and bang is magic!
Sensationalism at its best.

No matter what happens I think it is definatly breaking the law with class.

"Ros De Giaxa, sales manager at Motorsports of Scottsdale, the only licensed Lamborghini dealership in the state, said said there are about 350 Lamborghinis in Arizona, with more being purchased every day. He said Motorsports of Scottsdale is Arizona's only authorized service center for the car.
He said Lamborghini technicians have equipment that can show how fast the car has been driven"

Well I think the people here in Arizona are just upset because there are accidents all the time here from people speeding and from red light runners. Phoenix is the number one city for red light runners. I hate to drive the freeway because a majority of the people on there act like it is a race track. You almost have to speed all the time in this state or someone is always on your ass. It is really annoying to drive here. I think people here are just tired of speeders in general. Good to see you again.

I made that as an opinion, yet I was under the impression Robs was not a standard lambo and was at this point very rare.

Though I do question that dealerships quote - 350 lambo owners in AZ, with more being purchased every day? I hope this means his dealership is less than a year old

Yet still seriously how many of them do you REALLY think would try to break this record on some public street with a speed limit?

Personally I do feel like he was captain dipshit for doing this. There are more than enough places to drive as fast as you want to in this country and many not to far from where he currently lives.

Ya he got some promo, but also lots of negative promo as well.

Now imagine what he could of gotten if he arranged it at say the salt flats, brought his stable of girls, banners etc. Invited the press and hell even guinness, some motor sport mags and shit. Would of been no flack, he could of opened it all the way up and not be slowed down by other cars and got some great PR from it.

one of the articles said that a local dealer had sold 300+ of those cars i believe in the last year or something like that, so i don't think your comments of " i doubt there is anyone with in a couple hundred miles who owns one of these cars...." is too acurate.

i would agree with you but in this case he was a dentist. He probably has more education than most people here you think he would have been smart enough to know better. BUt generally speaking yes, most people in this industry who make good money don't know how to handle themselves.

I give in to that. I do not live there and I was under the impression that it is one of very few of that type that are even in the country right now.

Living in LA, we had to put up with little morons doing 100 plus mph on the freeway all the time, putting everyone else in danger so they can nurse their little adolescent Mario Andretti fantasy. I say put em in jail before they kill themselves, or worse, someone else.

Im cool with them killing themselves as long as their are no bystanders involved. Sure there may be some clean up expense and some traffic delays. Can not fix the traffic delays but the rubber necking experience should make up for it. as for the clean up well laws should be in place that if your a total moron and crashed your car doing say anything more than 30-40 mph over the limit, your estate or if your lucky yourself flips the bill.

you don't need a lambo to go 200 mph so how many lambos are in arizona really means squat

you do however need big balls to go that fast, not sure how many people with balls that big live in AZ though, that is the question....

I bet it's more accurate then you think.
I'm fairly sure he didn't sell 300+ of "those" cars locally, he probably sells them across the country.

I mean honestly, do you think there are over 300 Murcielago LP640's in the Phoenix area? Please.

there is absolutely nothing they can do to rob

there was a recent case where a guy video taped himself speeding from the east coast to the west coast, through every state at 200mph

they tried to prosecute him, but there are no statutes on the books to do so

he's free & clear

I mean honestly, do you think there are over 300 Murcielago LP640's in the Phoenix area? Please.

only 22 dealers in the whole country, so I would go with that.

this is what i have been thinking - all the armchair lawyers on here are making stuff up or assuming there are some laws that cover this - seems to me the only thing they might be able to charge him with is speeding and the accompanying fine and penaltes that go with that.

can't just go making up new laws to fit a sensational news story about a porn guy with a Lamborghini Murci going 200mph.

Gotta disagree on some of this. On one hand, I think he will get off without a criminal charge, but it'll cost him a little dough (which it probably has already).

But, as far as there being no charge...they could definitely hit him with at least a reckless endangerment charge which is not a violation but a crime, and has nothing to do with driving, but taking an action that places the public in danger. I would also hit him with conspiracy (a felony) since there were more than one person involved, and they planned it. Now this is based on NY law, but I'm sure AZ is not too far off.

With a crime (misdemeanor or felony), an officer doesn't have to see it happen, they can use probable cause to make an arrest. Now, most of the time it wouldn't be worth the time for the police to bother with, but in this case there's media hype so it may be worth pursuing.

One thing they do is find others that were there or had a hand in it and scare them into thinking they will be charged with assisting in the commission of a crime, getting them to "make a statement". That statement is admissible in court even if the video gets thrown out.

These are all part of an "investigation" as a whole and they have a lot of leads to pursue in order to drum up probable cause for an arrest. And, this isn't coming from an armchair lawyer, it's coming from a retired NYPD police officer and current officer in the Town Department of Public Safety ATV Task Force in Suffolk County, NY. I do investigations like this related to unlicensed use, reckless use, and speeding on public roads of ATV's. And we make arrests on less evidence than is presented here.

It isn't over til it's over. I hope for his case it goes nowhere for the officials on it, and that EVERYONE keeps their MOUTH SHUT.

you guys are crazy. the cost to him? did you see the video of channel 5 at robs house and he ran over his flowerbed to leave when he saw them. his face and address have been plastered all over the news for the past 3 days, that he runs porn sites, thats something you normally dont want your neighbors to know, especially in a neighborhood of million dollar houses. money to make it go away would have been easy, is what i guess im saying

some of the most logical thought put out in these threads. Nicely said. I would be more worried about long term effects than short term if I was him. Can't imagine the neighbors are happy knowing "that house down the street" is a porn location now, and that the dentist is actually a porn producer.

Robs Lambo is still the only Gold 08 in the country. According to one of the Lambo forums.
I think the quote of 350 owners in AZ was for that particular model. But i could be wrong.

I saw a news clip where the reported stated the cops would use that equipment to find out the cars actual speed for the charges. I found that funny because even a retarded lawyer would say that speed was attained on a legal track.

While I am sure this has caused Rob some money, I am sure its made him money too. I am also sure that he will not spend a moment in jail. The cops have a hard enough time pressing charges and ticketing when there is a clear shot of the driver and its some punk kid that gets a public defender.
I'd be surprised if the cops even pursued this much farther, I am sure they realize it will cost them a whole lot of tax dollars and the guy will still never do any time. Gotta be a point where they just cut their losses and find something better to spend their time on.

Penis envy? I don't know about that. Maybe you are right about Lambo envy, I am jealous as hell that he has that car. And, I'm secure enough to admit it. Unlike a lot of the haters on here that trash him because what he did was "unsafe", when we really know it's because they are jealous.

Now I've had my share of sports cars, but an SL500 is not even close to the universe of that Lambo. But interested as I am, I really don't wish or enjoy any bad coming to him. That doesn't help me get a Lambo, all it does is cause bad Karma. I hope all the damage has already been done and other than some interesting discussion and speculation and conjecture, the whole thing goes away for Rob as soon as possible. I certainly hope my post doesn't bring more attention to him, and I posted more as a warning to anyone involved to keep their mouth shut. A good amount of people in prison are there because they or someone involved talked to police.

P.S. I find the word "Fag" offensive to homosexuals and you should be ashamed of yourself, act like a man, not a child. That is if you want to be taken seriously at all. That part of your post was just un-interesting and childish, and added nothing to your opinion.

Um, I know Einstein, I was being sarcastic...an avatar usually is an image of oneself...get it now? Ok, I'm done with you, you are not smart enough to have a pissing match with me.

-------------
An avatar (abbreviations include AV, ava, avie, avy, avi, avvie, avis, avies, avii, and avvy) is an Internet user's representation of himself or herself, whether in the form of a three-dimensional model used in computer games,[1] a two-dimensional icon (picture) used on Internet forums and other communities,[2][3] or a text construct found on early systems such as MUDs. The term "avatar" can also refer to the personality connected with the screen name, or handle, of an Internet user.[4]
