How Do you Know if Your Site Has Propogated?

I am moving a site to a new server. I have updated the nameservers and uploaded the files and db.

The site looks the same. How can I be sure the propagation has completed (or even started)? Is there a way to tell? |

Ping it or do a NSlookup using other DNSservers, to check if it points to the new IP

You can change your hosts-file so that the domain is pointing to the new IP so you can check the site on the new server. You should really do this when you're moving sites to new servers before you change the nameservers to make sure it works.
