![]() Fujitsu Simens got some great offers over here now one of them is this comp SCALEO XI 2530 for about $1200.
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40 GHz Mobo: nVIDIA nForce 650i Ultra Memory: 3GB DDR II SDRAM 667 MHz PC2-5300 Harddrive: 2 x 500GB Serial ATA-300 7200rpm 16mb cache Graphic: MSI Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS 640 MB Firewire: 1 USB: 4 What do you guys think about the specs? Is it suitable for video editing? Ohh yeah also been thinking on maybe adding one of those Western Digital SATA 10 000 RPM drives with 16mb cache to put the OS on. Here is a pic. Yeah the blue holes are ugly but you can't get it all can you ![]()

That is a good processor. I just ordered the same one on NewEgg for my newest video editing and video encoding machine. You don't need two internal hard drives, though, just one for the system drive. You can keep your video files on multiple external firewire drives.

What type of power supply does it have? They tend to go cheap on that for some reason.

You should have the RAM replaced from [DDR II 667/5300 MB/s] to [DDR II 800/6400 MB/s] for any CPU speed above 2GHz.. IMO
If that option isn't given, get a deal with less RAM and replace it yourself, it'll be worth it if You'll be doing a lot of video editing ![]()
