How much is an adult biz worth?

A guy I know in the adult world is thinking of selling his adult venture which generates 6 figure revenue and 6 figure profits. He asked me what it might be worth and I told him no idea. He gets his money from a lot of sources - AVS, tgp listings, tgp ownership, and a couple of paysites.

I read somewhere that a business can sell for 2 to 3 time its annual profit + the value of its assets. Does this seem reasonable or what might this be worth?

He's looking to sell it all. Your honest expert opinion, please.

Yeh, nowhere near that in this business.

I'd say anywhere from 2-6 months depending on the stability of his sites.

6 figures profit per YEAR. And he has his own private reasons for selling.

I've brokered quite a few sales of adult businesses. Early on they went for 12 months net plus somewhere between 10 and 20%. Numbers are lower now though. Too many variables with CC processing and such.

Contact me if you need buyers though because I've got two I'm researching for currently.

I know it is 2 to 3 times your inventory for a retail biz..

12clicks would be the person to ask since he has another thread for buying sites! You might want to ask him in that thread !

6 months profit + market value(replacement value) of assets is what i would say. but tgp listings, isn't very stable so not sure if revenue from that should be considered.

not true. a lot of companies are sold for more then they are worth, which is usually true of publicly traded companies.

Beemk stated a fact in the sense that to an individual a business is worth whatever that individual is willing to pay for it. I just sold my business to my business manager/partner/friend. None of the scales mentioned in this thread applied to the sale (better deal than any mentioned) and in addition I retain a small interest in the business.

that shouldn't be the selling price of any business. you just end up paying more then its really worth.

There is actual worth and there is potential worth. If an individual sees a potential worth and he wants to convince a reluctant seller to sell, he then will offer more than than the actual worth. Does this make sense to you. I, just as one example, once bought a classic car. The owner did not want to sell, but I offered an amount that was to tempting for him to refuse and an amount that was way more than the actual worth of the car. Does any of this make sense to you?

since this is about the only happiness i have left, it's priceless to me. I don't know how it fits in the thread but it's your business is worth as much as you personally feel it's worth to you and I wouldn't give mine up for anything. I think it somehow ties into the potential worth category.. make sense?

if you see potential worth then you're buying speculation which becomes risky. the car example isn't a good one, thats a case of poor supply upping the price.
