I don't think it ever turns from horrifying into comical. It just always stays at horrifying.

the scene from, "The Shining" where Jack Nicholson went to that one room and found a naked chick that was near perfect and then they started hugging and kissing . . . and that tricky bitch turned into an 85 year old horrifying nightmare covered in weeping sores.
