He is good.....but no way in hell he should be up for the MVP award.
His team wouldnt even be in the run for the playoffs in the west.

shitty way to spam LOL of course he's overrated LMAO he can't shoot... He's just a big bodied guy that can pass and drive to the hoop.
The day he makes some 3's when the game is on the line maybe we can start talking about him

also if you look at the entire league they're what like the 12th best? being the best player on an "average" team doesn't mean shit.
Jordan carried his team right up against the Pistons with absolutely nobody around him. Pippen didn't even start to step up until really the second championship season. Lebron with big Z + another 20ppg player barely went to the finals just to get spanked... the pistons GAVE that series away. Lebron couldn't get shit done with 2 at least borderline yearly all-stars around him. Could you imagine Lebron with a guy like Luc Longley up front? You keep hearing people say lebron has nobody around him but seriously he HAS

Kobe is the best player in the game if you want to go 1 on 1. Until this year though Kobe hasn't been willing to play with any teammates.
If I were building a team JUST for this year I'd pick Steve Nash first above anybody else. Reason? There isn't a dominate big man ANYWHERE in this league. Yao is too passive and Shaq is gone. Duncan? No flash but seriously great all around player. I'd rather have somebody that'll spark the team.

Nah i think kobe is over rated . He hasent got passed the first round in 4 years. That is so sad. King james just got back from the finals and who cares hes in the east they beat the pistons. He averages more points ,rebounds assist, steals, blocks than kobe . Also if he was on the lakers with such great players like odem , turiaf and pure shooters like vujicic and vlad rad he would win at least 70 games.

Lebron is overrated but he is the second best player in the NBA and the next Magic Johnson. He is putting up monster numbers and he's only getting better. With that said, Kobe Bryant is the best player on the planet and the closest we've ever come to a next Michael Jordan. His decision making abilities is what holds him down, like chucking too much shit and not trusting your teammates. Both of those guys are the future of the NBA. Also, Duncan is the greatest power forwards the NBA has ever had.

If you were to dump every player in the league every year and do a "fantasy draft" if I had first pick it would be Steve Nash, get at least 1 stoudemire or dwight howard TYPE player in the second round. (6'10 area fast/finisher) and a big body in round 3 and surround them with guys who can stand still and nail the 3 and you have a team built to beat about anybody. If the suns had the shaq of 3 years ago there would be no denying them a title but as it is shaq is done. Lets not forget about T-Mac, what he's doing with the rockets right now is uneblievable. He's always hurt but when he's on he's every bit as good as Kobe but doesn't get the recognition because he's always hurt LOL If I were building a team that I wanted to contend for the next decade Chris Paul or Dwight Howard would HAVE to be the top of my list. I'd probably take Howard, give him a couple more years and I think he'll be what Kevin Garnett SHOULD have been.

Kobe is without a doubt the best in the game today, BUT I wouldn't count out Lebron from maybe becoming the best player ever to play the game besides Jordan and Kobe if he steps it up in the next couple of years. Its crazy when you think about his size and how talented he already is for only being in the NBA for a few years.

It's obvious some of you don't watch him play much. Otherwise you would know that he is in no way overrated.
He consistently puts up 30+ a night, has 7 triple doubles this season, reached 10,000 points faster than anyone in NBA history, (yes, that includes Kobe and Jordan). Of course he entered the NBA at a younger age than most players but he scored 10k playing in far less games than anyone also. He's the league's leading scorer this year and has been a top scorer in the league since he entered - straight out high school and only 23 years old I might add. OK, the key phrase for today is NBA History. Check out his amazing achievements after only 4 years in the league: One of three players in NBA history to average at least 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in their rookie season. Includes Oscar Robertson and Michael Jordan. One of five players in NBA history to average over 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in a season. Includes Oscar Robertson (achieved this six times), John Havlicek (achieved this twice), Larry Bird, and Michael Jordan. One of four players in NBA history to average at least 31 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in a season. Includes Oscar Robertson (achieved this twice), Jerry West, and Michael Jordan. One of two players in NBA history to average at least 27 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for three consecutive seasons. Includes Oscar Robertson (achieved this eight times). One of three players in NBA history to record a triple-double in their playoff debut. Includes Johnny McCarthy and Magic Johnson. 2nd place all-time for consecutive 20-point games to start a playoff career with 19. Behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's 27 consecutive games. Only player in NBA history to score 25 straight points for his team in a playoff game. Looking at the company he keeps above should settle this debate once and for all! Anyone who says he is overrated obviously doesn't know a damn thing about Lebron or the NBA. Oh I forgot to mention he is fun to watch and fills arena seats in cities all around the country!

All while leading the league in bricks year in and year out ;) He's one of the worst shooters I've EVER seen lead the league in scoring.
Kobe can hit the open 3, Lebron really can't, you have to cover your eyes with every 3 he jacks up. All of these idiot announcers talk during EVERY game about how much lebron worked on his shooting this off season yet his 3 % is WORSE! talk about hype/overrated... do worse and have these dipshots talking you up.

Also why is a FREE throw called a FREE throw?
career: 0.729 this year: 0.713 3's Career: 0.324 This year 0.313 also worth noting is the MPG: career: 41.2 he's actually playing the entire game... stats per minute are always interesting to look into... I simply cannot take somebody seriously as a player or hell even a hard worker who only makes 71% of his FREE THROWS! These should be "gimme" points. He's like the shaq of slashers. Put his ass at the line and foul him hard every time and you get in his head and he quits driving. Lebron's shooting is a joke, a real MVP will make his shots when the game is on the line. Lebron when the game is on the line drives to the hoop because thats all he can do. Sometimes he drives to try to dish to somebody else to take the shot.... this is because he CANT shoot I'm a pistons guy, I've watched MANY lebron games and seen him in person half a dozen times.... I'm not impressed by his game at all. He's a great playmaker and a great slasher but just not what i want to pay to go see. Give me a Kobe or T-mac at the palace anyday

Kobe is a career .839 from the line with last year being 868
338 from dowtown career and 350 this year Kobe is a chucker though and half of his shots are misguided to say the least. Tmac is career 748 from the line and 340 from downtown. Tmac isn't exactly what I'd call a great shooter but damn is he ever fun to watch when he's on. I don't believe he's a hard worker which take a look at his FT% and the fact that he's always hurt. He needs better conditioning and more time in the gym practicing free throws. shit a few years back when I would shoot just an hour or 2 a day I had plenty of 100 FT's IN A ROW streaks. Players today just don't stand there at the line practicing like they should. YAO frickin ming is a career .826 from the line Steve Nash: APG: 11.4 (anything over 10APG is fuckin badass Magic didn't do that many times) FT: career .897 3P: .465 this year and .43 career. This guy hits basically HALF of his treys nobody works harder than Steve Nash and the rest of the team will always feed off of that. You get your star player flying all over the place for loose balls, making his shots and truly making the whole team better you can't touch nash.

Lebron overrated ?? LOL
Have you look at what this kid has done straight out of High School ? look at the numbers he has put up ....across the board .....where he has led his team and the dominance he has had in the league .....and he has just started. He's averaging 30 points a game with close to a Triple Double for the season LOL overrated ?? WOW Kobe is the best player in the league ....without a doubt ! but look at Kobe when he entered and Lebron ......Lebron is NOT HUMAN he is something really special ! Former NBA greats don't have words to properly describe him ....thats how amazing he is.

Lebron and his team are what, #5 in the Leastern Conference? Amazing.. As long as Kobe is in the league, Lebron is #2 and as long as Lebron is a Cavelier, he'll retire without a title.

FT% is a measurement of strong or in this case WEAK work ethic. Any "little guy" that can't even touch the tallest player in the league at the charity stripe has a very weak work ethic. Lebron is lazy, he may have insane "abilities" but he can't shoot and you can't trust him to make a "gimme"
When you are constantly told how hard this guy has been working on his shooting by the announcers just to see his stats WORSE than the previous years you have to say WTF? this fuckers overrated when both his FT% and his 3P% are WORSE when they were bad to begin with. That right there is truly the definition of overrated! The guy does WORSE and the TV guys say how improved he is LMAO Seriously lebrons shot is a joke. The best defenses in the league WANT to give lebron open looks at 3's simply because he scores less shooting open 3's than he does driving the lane into double teams. It's sad but you beat the cavs by giving lebron open looks. He's a streaky shooter but MOST of the time he can't make anything from 18ft or further. What he can do in the lane is insane yes I'll agree with that but he's actually WASTING talent, if he'd put in the work it takes then he could certainly be a top 5 all time player BUT as it stands he's lazy. Maybe when he's 30 he'll develop a shot but at this time he's a purely drive and dish player.

Lebron has no jump shot, very crucial in the NBA, you need inside and outside presence. Jordan did not have a jump shot but over the years became one of the best outside shooters. So lebron has to learn the outside shot, once he does he will become a force. Kobe is a killer shooter from the outside, thats what makes him even harder to guard, no one single nba player can stop him. Lebron is a good player and could become a legend if he shooots better.

Lebron James is not overrated imo
The game has changed since the era of wilt or russel where one dominant player could win you a title. Look at dominant teams over the last 25 years.... Celtics: brid, parish, machale, ainge etc. Lakers: magic, kareem, scott, worthy etc. Pistons: isiah, rodman, mahorn, laimbeer etc. Bulls: jordan, pippen, grant, rodman, kerr etc. Spurs: duncan, ginobli, parker etc. All these teams were put togther like puzzles with each part complimenting the main piece. Lebron does not have the puzzle yet. Bringing in zerbiak and wallace was a weak attempt at this but will fall short. He is a kid. He would be just coming out of college now if he stuck for 4 years. What he is capable of doing at his size and god goven athletic ability is unlimited. He must continue to work on his shot and if he can become a genuine threat from beyond the arc, he just may break some scoring records that MJ set. Right now he is the best driving player in the game. Yes.... better than Kobe right now... maybe not 2 or 3 years ago but now he is. He has the strength to post up players at his position and players that are bigger then him. Lebron is second to Kobe in the following respects: Defense: when Kobe wants to, like Jordan he can be a defensive MVP ( tournament of americas in las vegas in the summer was a perfect example ) Final Shot: I have seen no one besides Kobe who has even come close to Jordan with respect to wanting the ball with 5 seconds left and the audience and defense knowing no matter what, his shot was most likely going down. So for Lebron to surpass Kobe as the premier player in the game, these things must happen in addition to Danny Ferry figuring out what it takes to add 2 complimenting players to the cavs roster that pose match up problems for opposing teams night in and night out. PS As far as what player one would look at to start a franchise, I would lean towards dwight howard at this point. The importance of a big man in this league is paramount. My list above, besides the bulls who used a 4 man rotation with likes of purdue, wennington, longly and cartwright, all had dominant centers. And imo Howard may go down as the most athletic center of all time before his days are through. my ![]() |

I dont think he is overrated. He is surrounded by subpar players at best. Compared to what the other superstars have, I think he deserves the recognition he gets.

I do agree with basically everything he said... Wilt was an absolute freak so yes he could carry a team... if you can score 100 points in a game don't you think the other guys can chip in 20 and get you a win?
Russell on the other hand from 56-59 had a total of 5 other HOF players and the 62-63 team had cousy and havlicek as the other stars.... look around at the rosters, plenty of all-timers on those squads that won russell all those rings. Wilt though was incredibly fast, could shoot and was huge and powerfull. Absolutely nobody could guard him. Shaq in his prime vs wilt in his prime would have been a nice battle but wilt would have simply run around him.

Bunch of haters in here!
Overrated 1. Anything that is given too much credit and hype. 2. A word which recently has been used liberally as a way of discrediting something without having to give a proper justification, most often when someone finds they have a disliking for a popular phenomenom and is resentful of those who embrace it. Often used by anti-trendies. 3. Being Not nearly as good as they seem to think All haters refer to #2 above then go to post #17 and read it again!
