free server monitoring software
what software do you use to monitor if your servers go down and send you an email or text alert?

Monitoring from three different stations is included with Clonebox.
The difference is with Clonebox you can actually switch over to your spare server, solving the problem as opposed to just knowing about it.

thanks for the reply. i'm just looking for something simple to give me a warning if one of my servers goes down. i'm giving PRTG a go but wondering if there is something else recommended.

www.host-tracker.com and www.pingdom.com and www.mon.itor.us are free, been happy with them. They are web services though not software.
