anyone bought their own central air system?
I need to replace my central air and gas furnace. All the central air people I spoke to quoted me for buying a system and install. I got prices anywhere between $6000 and $10000 and would take between half a day to a day to put in.
I looked on ebay and theres a system for $1900! so what does it cost $4000-8000 for a days work to install?! if thats the rate for a days work I am in the wrong business! Anyone bought a system themselves then paid someone to put it in? I would say about $500 for the install is a pretty good rate not including materials? |

We have a guy that does that stuff on the side so we got a good rate from him $5,000 for both a new furnace and Central air, But then we had to pay the Electrician to run the electrical to the air. Still waiting on that bill.
