So you thing you can code?

http://www.indiangeek.net/wp-content...y%20matrix.htm

Came across this page today. Very interesting. Gonna print it out and take a highlighter to it and see where I need to improve.

Also very good for interviewing programmers to find out if they are any good. Have to tailor it to what you need obviously. You probably aren't going to a need a programmer that understands hash tree collisions and assembly language for most jobs.

Still I think the best question you can ever ask a programming is what have you written for fun.

I've found learning other platforms, languages, technologies, and frameworks makes you a better programmer no matter what. I became a much better PHP programmer after learning Ruby on Rails for example.

one should take pride in becoming more well rounded than just a specific niche, and programming is programming, you never know what 'outside of the box' idea you might come up with due to knowledge of all sorts

Exactly. I've been studying compiler design and the differences between lots of programming languages. It has given me insights into new ways of development that can make me much more productive than programmers who are unaware of the techniques.

This is a general list to check diversity, and in no means determines if you are a good programmer. Ten minutes on Wikipedia and someone could rank at the top level of 90% of these questions.

I like brandonstills, be nice. He is the best DDR player I have ever seen (that's Dance Dance Revolution for those not in the know) I don't even know how he keeps up? It's like Guitar Hero but with your feet (lol) The only time I have ever seen him sweat, except that one other time with all the whores form Goldstar for that pic.

Go Brandon!
